I'm heading towards 52 and have an eight year old that keeps me about as busy as I can imagine. I'm pretty sure I don't want more. All the reading I've done about it says one should consider it a non reversable permanent operation. Being one that tends to try to cover bases, I was wondering if any of you out there that had a vasectomy banked some of your sperm -- just in case. |

It sounds like you might have some doubts, though. If you do have doubts maybe you should wait awhile to be sure. They can reverse the operation but you shouldn't get one if you are in doubt at all. Banking sperm might be an option for you to look into. I have no experience with that as we knew we were done procreating so didn't bank any.

The answer was NO! I already have two wonderful kids who will graduate HS within the decade.... enough! If you are not so sure, maybe hold off or look into considering banking some sperm. Do NOT keep the "reversible" option in the back of your mind. For me the V was 15 minutes of discomfort and a couple of days of taking it easy. I saw a reversal once on Discovery or TLC and it was major... looked like a firecracker had gone off in this guy's scrotum... parts pulled out all over... tubes running here and there. And, it all comes with no guarantee of success. |

However, wouldn't trade the "mistake" or his big sister (10 yrs difference) for anything in the world. My son should be graduating college about 2-3 yrs before I can retire early. Why would I (or anyone else) want to be in the nursing home and still have a kid in high school? Not to change the subject, but last week, while at work (long story) heard a tv report about a federal judge ruling that an anonymous sperm donor can be held liable for child support. Was unable to sit down and pay attention to the story at the time, and watched later on that evening and never heard it again. Has anyone heard anything about this? Just interested. ![]() |

For myself I now can have 2 orgasms back to back which was unheard of before Vas. There's also the loss of the fear of getting others pregnant. Makes the sex act even better. IMHO Sweet
