Question Oral precautions.

Ding and I are planning on visiting our second party in a couple weeks. We have decided that if the opportunity presents it'self we are ready for oral sex with others.

You may recall that we are a bit STD-phobic. Any precautions we should discuss? The idea of giving a BJ to a guy wearing a condom is a bit distasteful to ding. Is it really necessary?

The risks for her are greater than the risks of you giving oral to a woman without any protection, and even greater still if he comes in her mouth.

I would say the majority of people don't use protection during oral sex. However, if it's something you feel uncomfortable about then you should go with what feels right to you. If you feel safer using protection then do. There are some great flavored condoms on the market to help you along.

I'm gonna have to disagree with Julie. We are also STD-phobic and "if it feels right" doesn't really do it for us if we have a change of contracting any ( and especially deadly ) STDs.

Playing at a swing club is the most risky thing you can do, since most people who attend parties like that are not very much concerned with STDs as is.

However, if you ARE going then you can use flavored condoms, so it tastes good for a woman, but there is pretty much nothing you can do about giving oral to a woman. The only thing is that the risk of contracting an STD from a woman to a man is very very small.

My point with what I was saying was not "if it feels right do it" but rather than whether or not to use condoms for oral sex is a choice they have to make. Very few swingers do use condoms for oral sex, but if a couple feels that they should, then they should regardless of what others do.

This statement is false. MOST people who do go to swing clubs ARE very concerned about STDs and the transmission of such. Contrary to popular belief, swing clubs are NOT a hot bed for STDs. Both swing club owners and those that patronize (whether it be on occasionally or frequently) swing clubs are concerned. While I am aware that sometimes a person will try to get by without using any form of protection (which should send up a red flag to anyone), on the whole, swing club owners and swingers are very responsible when it comes to providing a disease-free area/atmosphere.

While not 100% effective or not even 95% effective such as condoms are, it's still a functional barrier between the genitalia and the mouth. I have also heard that one can purchase latex sheaths (not condoms) that are shaped to cover a woman's genitalia...haven't seen them myself, only heard from a few friends about them. Finally you state something that is the truth, I've italicized above, but while the chances are small...that doesn't negate the fact that the opportunity for transmission is still there.

Those are called dental dams. Pretty cool looking when you put it over your mouth and stick your tongue out. I am sure they are flavored as well.

I called my friend, with whom I was just talking to the other day about this, and asked her if it was dental dams as she couldn't remember the name of them either and well, it was. She got a little bit more excited about knowing the correct name than I think she should have but with her it doesn't take a whole lot to get her going. Like her husband says...I can say fuck when I cut my finger and she'll respond by saying 'sounds good to me' and pulling her panties down, meanwhile he bleeds to death.
