| Posts: n/a | I was told by a swing couple that "plastic wrap" can be use as a STD barrier? I found this to be unusual. I have heard of dental dam use before, but believe that there is a special product for that - similar material to a condom. Does anyone have any info this? |

If Julia Roberts wanted me to eat her out but insisted on saran wrap I would decline. I need the taste and the response of the tongues reaction to the flicking and to feel and smell of my actions to really know if I am doing my job. To me dental dams are along the same lines as wearing a helmet wile driving. Or maybe wearing rubber gloves for digital sex. ok once in a while someones gonna save a concussion by wearin a helmet but life is a risk. The odds of transmitting a STD by engaging in oral sex with a female are so slim I have never even heard of it happening. Some people with recent oral surgery for instance or a female that has a known disease may be a different story though. I would just stop having it if there were a situation like that unless it was my wife and she needed my attention. I guess you did not say why you want to use it though so there may be underlying situtions. Please explain if you are just interested or feel that it is something that would be important to you in the swinging lifestyle. |

Is the plastic wrap a barrier to prevent STD / AIDS from being transmitted? (Yes, direct contact is always prefered, but I'd rather use plastic than risk death.) But you did bring up a point... that I wasn't aware of.. that the transmission of STD's from woman to a man orally is slim. I wasn't sure of that...is that true? I'm not nieve...just curious. |

I am not a medical doctor so the information I give is basically what I consider common sense and not to be construed as unquestionable medical advice. First the obvious. You would not eat food that had a revolting odor to it. I would not engage in cunnilingus with a person that had an odor that was abnormal in a sour or unhealthy form. If you see discharge that is not normal of course this would be a clue also. Growths, bumps, open sores etc fall into the same category. Vaginal or anal oral sex are considered extremely difficult ways to pass the HIV virus in all of the professional articles that I have run across with the exception of some that I consider biased. Julie posted a web page on herpes once and it is very informative. Look through past posts to find it or maybe she would be inclined to repost it. There are some bacterial infections that probably could be passed too. Bacterial infections of course include Gonorrhea or more rarely Syphllis or Cancroid, (which in the rare occasion this may happen are easily cured with antiobiotics). It would probably be a safety precaution to NOT floss your gums before giving oral sex to a female. The reason being that you may cause your gums to bleed increasing risk for exposure. Oral hygeine should be practiced of course and falls ito the line of cleanlines. The population groups that suffer the most STD's are people that do not take care of themselves, do drugs, especially intrevenous and are generally in poor health thus reducing there immunity. Of course unprotected anal penetration is asking for trouble too. Swingers have a very low percentage of these types of people and with a bit of observation are easily avoided. This is probably the reason that swingers have such a low rate of STD's. Common sense would probably include not performing oral sex on a menstruating woman. I heard someone on here post that they always insist that there male playmate use listerine before going down on her. This certainly can't hurt anything I'd suppose anyhow. As far as your question....you asked if you were told by a swinging couple if a "plastic wrap" can be used as a STD barrier. Only you know if you were asked that. But I can think of no other reason that a plastic barrier would be used for oral sex. Enlighten me if there are any other ideas you may have as to why one would do it. Hit a search engine or follow Julie's links and you will find dozens of dental dam products. Many people just use saran wrap though. Most of the dental dams I see advertised are made of latex so watch out for latex allergies too. Now if anyone has any non narotic solution to insomnia caused by lower back compressed vertebrae and pinched nerve I would appreciate it lol. John |

Julie, is there an approiate place on the board for this? We are running into more and more swingers, with some degree of back problems. It might be a topic worth discussing. Mike | |

I didn't ask if about techniuqes, if it dulled the feelings, blocked odor etc. (Of course it would, it is plastic!) I asked... IS "SARAN WRAP" (AKA, PLASTIC WRAP) A SAFE BARRIOR TO PREVENT THE TRANSMISSION OF STD'S WHEN GIVING A WOMAN ORAL SEX? |
