Advice to Single Men on Answering Profile Ads

Ok, so this isn't a question, but more a piece of advice to anyone who read profiles on any of the ad sites... it's a major pet peeve of mine, especially lately.

If someone specifically states that they do NOT want replies from men, then please guys.. DON'T reply !!! Gawd.... I'm on a few sites, all of them with profiles that CLEARLY state that I'm seeking bi or curious women... all CLEARLY state that NO men are welcome, and yet I get contact after contact from men. Now, I don't mean to pick on just the single men. I've had couples do the same thing, when it also says in the profiles that they are excluded. What's the deal ? Do they just assume that they are the exception to the rule or what ?

unwanted mail! how about 25 "have a bigger penis" and 16 nigerian money laundering scams? Lord knows how many "you've won a free..." and this morning; 4 "virus found in email" by my AVG. I can get a degree without attending classes and buy viagra online. All-in-all, 120+ pieces of email and only one I needed to read.

It's not just the "no single guys" that gets ignored though. Some people don't read the ads at all -- they just shotgun a reply to everyone. Then when you get to chatting you have to ask, "did you read my ad at all?" how is it that you're surprised that I'm {married, BBW, bi, blonde, what-have-you}?

They recently came out with a new feature within the last week that blocks access to your profile for those you are not interested in.

For example if you select in your profile "No couples" and a registered couple sees your profile it says in the Tag line that "this user as selected to remain invisible to couples, if they are interested in you they will contact you."

The profile cant even be opened and no messages can be sent.

I feel your pain! We get a ton of single guys responding to our ad which states we're looking for couples only. And we also get mail from the male of couples with bifemales, going on and on about all the hot girl-on-girl action they anticipate. Since our profile states that I am straight (as well as hubby) ... we suspect they are just sending a bulk mail to any profile with photos they like.

I think these "cut and paste" replies are mostly a male phenomenon ... all the females we know read the profiles very, very carefully looking for red flags. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the couples that do that are really singles in disguise.

Mr... Yep, I'm on there too, but that one, fortunately, is not one of the problem sites.... My profile there is as a couple with my guy... the problem profiles are on some bi sites, just me, seeking friends who are bi or curious, and FEMALE. I'm very clear in them that I'm not looking for sex partners, and definitely NO men, but still they write to me... spent a long time this morning weeding out all that crap, and got so frustrated, I just HAD to vent about it... I'm feeling much better now...

At least on profile websites you can set your mailbox to be block out single men or couples or the non-sought category of choice.

Even though we utilize the spam blocker on yahoo, we have found it is necessary to scan through the "from" and "subject" listings before deleting since it tends to block the mail received from sites such as this one. And yes, I have hit the "not spam" button in hopes it wouldn't block it the next time - but it doesn't get the message too reliably.

Agreed - if I could just zap the on line pharmacies, mortgage lenders, credit card offers, grow a bigger penis/larger boobs, lose weight while I sleep, and on line degree offers from ever coming back - I would be a happy camper. Guess they are changing senders all the time, so blocking the sender doesn't seem to impact these.

It's not just on profiles, everyone everywhere seems to have an excuse as to why rules apply to everyone but THEM. I'm getting off this thread before I launch into a rant on modern society.

Our experience has been the same. We also suspect that some people genuinely believe that they are so good-looking or so well-hung that we will absolutely love them if we just give them a chance. Self-confidence is a good thing, but sometimes you can have too much of a good thing.

We also suspect that some people are in such a hurry while looking over profiles that they skim over important parts of the text. This is very common among people who cruise the Yahoo! chatrooms. This can be pretty annoying, but we usually get a sincere apology when we point out their oversight.

Don't feel bad. It happens to us too. More so when we go into a South Dakota chat room on yahoo just to chat. We go in under our couples ID and automatically we get hit with all kinds of IM's from horny guys looking to get laid, just because we are chatting as a couple, that they automatically assume we are looking for a guy for a threesome, or that Tazzie is looking for guys to fuck her.

What bothers us even more is when they IM us and they start off asking what size her breasts are, is she shaved, telling us the size of their dick, and things of that nature, which really turns us off to them imediatly. It hasn't been just single men though either, we have gotten that from some couples, and even some women who wanted to play with us. What bothers us is these people think that we are sluts or something. And the funny thing about it is when we go into the chat room, we don't say anything that we are looking for anything. All we say is our a/s/l, and say hello, and try to start a conversation with someone.

So we know what your going through. Not so much with e-mail, just more so with chat.

Know the feeling...We get emails almost everyday from single men or bi men when i put in large letters "NOT LOOKING FOR SINGLE MEN...and HUBBY IS STRAIGHT..PLEASE NO BI OR BI CURIOUS MEN!!" or the other thing is we state that we are a full swap couple and play with full swap couples and lately we keep getting couples that only want same room..no touching between partners. I try to explain as nice as i can that we are not looking for only same room but sometimes i they just don't get it! lol and my favorite..We state that I am very bi and only want bi or bi curious women and we get couples with straight women emailing us. I tell them i am looking for bi or curious women and the response is....well she isn't really bi but will play with women if she is in the mood. to me that says she aint bi but does it to please hubby which is such a turn off!!!!

We're starting to think there is a script these folks follow. It goes something like this:
