Effect of swinging on relationships

We weren't sure if this was the correct forum to post this question....and we have seen similar, if not exact topic matter in here....so here goes.
We would appreciate any input from married or committed couples. The question is:

How has swinging affected your relationship with your partner? We have asked this question of some friends of ours that swing, and they have said it has strengthened their relationships and bonds.

For us it has truly strengthened our relationship enormously. Not that it was in jeopardy beforehand mind you, but we had just gotten into a lull. We both had been under tremedous stress for sometime due to outside situations that caused us to act like zombies around each other. We still loved each other immensely but our once very active sex life had come to a near stand still. About 5 years or so ago a friend of ours gave us this really *crappy porn/no sound/bootleg video* we nearly died laughing watching it the first time, but then started asking "what if, or what would you do"? Suddenly our sexual lives took on a whole new twist much better than the lust of the early years.

We suddenly started to feel happier and were able to deal with any problem that arose in our outside lives with an ease that we hadn't known for some time. We fantasized about swinging for a long time and it was years before we ever decided to attempt trying to fullfill our fantasies.

Based on our experience, our lives are much fuller and more enriched than ever before. We are both living and enjoying activities that we never dreamt could be possible as a single...much less with the loving approval of your mate by your side.

I can't say that it has strengthened nor degraded our relationship. However, it has liberated us sexually.

Can't say it has altered our relationship at all because swinging has been part of it from the beginning but I will say I can't imagine being restricted to sharing my existence with only one other person in this wonderful world - even if that one were my beloved Jeannie.

Definitely for the better in our case.

Has helped us quite a bit. When we met, sparx was the more liberated one of the two. Over the years, I caught up and when we ventured into the lifestyle, we became more balanced.

Truthfully, I don't know that it's really affected our relationship one way or the other, except indirectly. We've been together 22 years and have more or less worked out the issues between us. (She'd say that I'm now properly trained! )

I think it has improved J's ability to see herself as a sexy woman, giving her more self-confidence. That makes both of us very happy...

Have to say it's made our relationship better, and sex between us even better, it has brought us alot closer to each other. And has strongly reinforced our trust with each other.

So for us we can say it has helped our marriage, and we are alot happier since we started swinging.

If you can talk to your partner about how they liked having sex with someone else besides your self you can talk about anything.

It has added a layer of excitment. We find ourselves having open and racy conversations that we stopped when the first child came along. It also reafirms our trust in each other - all the fun and excitement of an affair without the lying and sneaking around...

It's definitely been a positive experience for us. We are able to communicate freely with each other. We learned the hard way that in order to play, you have to put all the cards on the table. After each experience we've had (which haven't been many), no matter how much fun we've had, I'm still soooo glad to be going home with my Drew.

It has liberated the both of us to be open about our sexual desires and fantasies. We both feel that lifestyle sexual activities are a positive in our relationship. We do feel that if it became the central focus of our relationship (eg. every weekend) that it possibly could become a negative. You know the old saying, "Everything is moderation, nothing to excess."
