Yep, a few years ago I did. After all these years she is pretty hard to buy for. I have a bad habit of just going out and getting anything she wants when she mentions it so when special times come around, it can get tough.

It was a very special trash can though. All stainless steel, with one of those foot peddles on it so that you can open it with your foot. She kept saying she needed a better trash can next to her desk so she got one. Just happened to be her birthday.

Well, tonight we have two new black kittens running around my house. A month ago our beloved dog that we had for fifteen years died. We said no more pets, ever. Lately Laura and daughter been hinting about kittens so we went to the place here in Vegas that rescues animals and got two kittens that are sisters that are four months old. They "fixed" them for us, put a microchip in them and they are home today. Now to come up with names. They way they are acting I have a couple of names but not ones that the kids and grandkids can use.

Yes Lee really did get me a trash can for my birthday one year! And yes I did ask for one so he's off the hook there. To give him credit, its a really cool one, I woulda settled for a little rubbermaid run of the mill one for $3.95 at kmart.

The Kittens were a total surprise to me. I swear I heard him say on numerous occasions "no more pets!" Of course, this isnt the first time he got me a pet for my birthday. About 6 years ago Lee came home with a pet snake for me (warning guys, DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME) I did want and ask for that snake knowing he would never get me one, and he did listen

More Kitten news: Ive quickly figured out which one is the evil one.
At this rate she's either going into the afore mentioned trash can or into the snake tank if she keeps it up

I'm giggling to myself about the kittens (we have 2 males), as I remember what it was like when they first came home. I love snakes, but hubby is not a snake lover, so I settled for the kittens.

It is very early here and I am not really giggling about what last night was like. I NEED SOME SLEEP. Those kittens did not sleep at all last night. They thought my bed was a great place to play and biting my head seemed to be one of their favorite things to do. As I am typing this the kittens are thinking my toes are something you should be biting and playing with. They spent the first four months of their life in a little cage with strangers, I guess they deserve some time to understand that they better be nice to me.

I am like your husband, I do not like snakes at all. It is one of those what a husband will do for his wife things. I hate snakes and yes, I am the one that went and found her a very hard to find snake for her birthday one year. There is only ONE picture of me holding that snake, there will not be another.
