What does "commando" mean?

What type of men's underwear do the ladies find the sexiest? I want to surprise my wife with something that she will say "Wow"..

Or maybe I should rephrase that, what kind of surprise would you like to receive from your husband? something that would make you "Wow"

I don't think I'm with the norm on this one.

I like those briefs that have no lines or holes or anything. Like man-panties - which is a poor description as it does not conjure images of manliness.

Simple question for guys. Do you wear boxers or briefs and why? Guys only please. I am considering changing and am wondering pros and cons for each. I actually prefer going without, but sometimes this is impractical.

I went to boxers when my wife and I were tring to have a baby but I will stay with them forever now - they are so much more comfortable.

Boxers. They're comfy. And, a partner explained they're easier access. You can go for the goodies through the top, the flap, or the leg. Granted, not as easy access as commando.
