LOL! That depends on how far into the woods you hike. When Mrs. CXXC and I camp, 99% of the time, the vehicle is within sight. Her rechargable wand holds a charge for quite a while. If it needed more juice, we just plug it into the power inverter.

This is a great gadget tho! LOL!
