Default The Scents of a Man

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, But I believe a quality cologne can either make or break physical attraction , Most know about pheromones sprays but the topic is not about them or if they work. Lets stick to your colognes what work for you ,compliments ,fond memories, along with your ladies personal favorite.

I am a cologne whore..I admit it, I have a arsenal of sprays on the vanity, If our home ever went up in flames, I believe i would be my duty to warn the firefighters of the dangers which lurked up stairs. (a scene from flashback keeps running before my eyes lol.

Now to name a few of my fav's or the ones I have recieved complimets on while out and about. again this is my personal experience also note colognes smell differently on the individuals wearing them.

Number 1: D&G (Dolce & gabbana) There is magic in that blue velvety box! A clean manly scent. not sure how to explain it but it has a distinct smell from other colognes. and have been asked many many times what cologne i was wearing from women who wanted to purchase for their partner.

Number 2: Givenchy PI. This cologne is a close tie for number 1 in my book.Best way to describe it, It smells like candy..for men. Also you will not find many other men wearing it which is a plus , leave the obsession for the other 100 men in the room.

Number 3 Blue jeans (versace) I believe if I wore it more it could easily become my favorite, never have I heard anything but good remarks about its scent.

Number 4 GIO (Georgio Armani) Nice scent with citris undertones. can be easily worn to work or play.

Number 5 TIE between Escada and Essentials by lacoste. very nice and have had compliments on both.

number 6 Obsession Nights. Smells nice ,to me it smells like what I would think sweet liquor would smell like.have not used it as often but I like it and will wear it till told otherwise.lol

Application: generally I will spray once in center of neck, once on each wrist and rub thoroughly. I possibly could be overdoing it, But I have seen other men at the gym spray at least 12 pumps on their chest alone. that is overkill to me,Then I have heard some men spray once and walk thru mist. Who knows the correct application?

Anyway would love to hear from everybody about personal favorites,

I was told that rubbing the cologne/perfume on your wrists actually messes with the actual smell of it. Don't know if that was true or not.

omg, Eternity for Men.
Holy whackamoley, they has something in it that just makes me go good googa mooga. But yes, a man has to smell good. Not too much, I don't want to smell him from 4 feet away. But when we dance or are very close, when I put my face right next to his neck and can smell mixture of nice cologne and man.....................SNAP!

I can't remember what the name of the cologne I wear is, but I get a lot of, "wow, you really smell nice" comments, so I am sticking with that one.

Mrs. GT can post later what the name of it is, I know she gets it from Avon.

As Mr. GT says he gets lots of compliments on his cologne and it is Perceive for Men. We've tried the expensive stuff like Armani but for some reason the cheap Avon works best for him. I'm sticking with the chemistry rather than the name.

I totally agree, I take it when you say name you refer to the price..We need the name but as for it needing to be expensive , that has nothing to do with a great smell. I would like to find the diamond in the rough as well.lol I also have a avon colognes the one they have Derick J pushing, I believe its called Domain. Not used it enough for any feedback, but I like the smell.

My hubby is not a big fan of wearing cologne, but when he does I prefer it to be Preferred Stock or Axe Phoenix...

But he knows that if he puts on cologne I expect to get some lovin later lol

Mr. Fun recently discovered Tommy Bahama colognes ... I don't remember which one he is wearing now, but it's wonderful. There is also a Calvin Klein one he likes called ... hell, something with an E, but not Eternity.

I love the colognes, but my FAVORITE scent is him ... good lord. Good stuff.

Calvin Klein's Escape. I wear Escape for women, and get alot of compliments on it. It's definately my favorite perfume.

Fifteen or 20 years ago I got a sample of Christian Dior's Fahrenheit. I rarely wear cologne but I put a touch on before going to work one day and two women in the office complimented me on it. So, I wear Fahrenheit. (When I find something I like, I stick with it. For example, except for length, I've basically had the same hairstyle for over 45 years. The hairstyle IS okay, isn't it? It's okay? Right?)

Oddly enough, last year a play-partner and I were discussing colognes -- we had played before but I wasn't wearing cologne, or anything else , when we played -- and she mentioned that Fahrenheit was a favorite or hers. I've worn it since when I've been with her, but she hasn't mentioned the cologne. Maybe I'm not using enough (I tend to go with the light touch) or maybe it's just part of that sexually-charged atmosphere when we're together.

If I run out of Fahrenheit I just rip the best-smelling scented sample of whatever cologne appears in Maxim/GQ/etc. and rub the paper on my chest, wrists and behind the ears. Weird, but hey, it's a cheap...er, inexpensive...way to see what works! (So far Nautica seems to work best in those emergencies. )

Oh yes....Jeff wears Eternity....mmmmmmhhhhhhh....He doesn't douse himself, but he puts a few sprays on his chest/back. Since he's taller than me, the chest placement is perfect for getting my 'fix'.

But I also love Red for Men, Preferred Stock is nice, and Curve for Men (the orginal scent). And Obsession....

I prefer to wear Curve (the original scent for women) and for spring/summer I love love LOVE the Escada perfumes (they are usually citrus-y and make me think of the beach lol ). For a lighter scent I've been known to wear Elizabeth Arden Green Tea...my ex-hubby hated heavy perfumes and we picked this one out together. For some that would strike it off the list...however, I really like the way it smells on me...so it gets to stay.

For the times that Jeff isn't wearing cologne (which is most of the time...he only uses it when we are going out), he uses Old Spice deodorant and sometimes the body wash. It smells great on him...and he says that the Old Spice splash on stuff works well for him too.

Neither my honey or I are big on colognes (probably because of my allergies). But a friend gave him a bottle of Obsession after shave lotion, and I LOVE it on him.

I like Happy by Clinique or Karmala by Avon. My mood determines which I use.
