Default Can clothes/lingerie alone make a woman sexy?

We received an invite to meet a couple and when viewing their pictures we found them predominantly of her in a variety of lingerie. Sometimes she was wearing the complete matching set of thigh-high stockings, garter, thong, and bra.

What I noticed most was that she wasn't sexy. It all had to do with how she stood there, or laid there - no sex appeal came through. Got me thinking about sex appeal and if you don't have it, no amount of pretty, lacey, "sexy" clothing is going to make you sexy if you're not. People may approach you if you're wearing those clothes, but if you don't exude what attracts people beyond the first look, I would think a lot of people will be backing away and looking elsewhere for stimulating company.

Whether in pictures or in person, can clothing alone make a woman sexy?

LM

Clothes may make the man (as they say) but they don't make the woman. Some would say that if you dress sexy you will feel sexy and therefore portray sexy... but it goes to that feeling sexy part. If the woman is not comfortable in what she is wearing then she's not going to feel (or look sexy). Every woman is different in regards to what she feels sexy in. Most likely in her case she wasn't feeling very sexy when those pics were taken, or perhaps they were clothes her husband finds sexy but just make her feel uncomfortable. It could be that she is most sexy in a jeans and t-shirt (because that is how she's comfortable).

I hadn't even thought of that. This makes so much sense. It could be a red flag; the husband is more interested in swinging than the wife is, or maybe she's being pressured to be someone other than herself.

I have seen some of the sexiest photos of men and women when they are in full dress and in an environment where you can see they feel good. It's often outdoors around things they enjoy.

After spending several years in front of the camera, I can honestly say it is all in how you feel. There were times when I did a photo shoot because I needed to put up something new, when I did that - you could tell.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that it means anything about their relationship, HOPEFULLY, we all have partners who find us sexy no matter what mood we are in or how UNsexy we may feel. That combined with us wearing our partners favorite sexy wear and if he's posting the pictures you can bet he's going to pick the ones of us wearing what he likes.

Good question!

I personally LOVE lingerie, but do not own much. If it is something I am comfortable in (doesn't rub the wrong spots and fits well ) then I feel sexier...however, I do not believe that the lingerie really makes a woman sexy..it really is all in how you feel at that moment.

I feel the sexiest when the MR. looks at me or touches me just so...even more so than if I were wearing my favorite piece of lingerie!

So I guess I agree with Julie in that, it is all in your mood at the time and also, I believe, the mood of your partner and how they respond to you.

I will say that I get more compliments on one of his old over-sized football jersey shirts than I have EVER gotten on a piece of sexy lingerie....go figure!!!

I have to say I agree with Julie, for the most part. We are friends with a couple though that the woman always wears sexy clothes and they are just not sexy on her. It's not that she is unattractive, she just has very poor taste in sexy clothes and lingerie. The clothes she wears would be real sexy on some women but on her they look horrible. But she thinks she looks sexy as all get out and nobody has the heart to tell her that she really doesn't look good in what she is wearing.

So I think it is true that if you don't feel sexy in what you are wearing you probably won't look sexy to others, but just because you feel sexy in what you are wearing doesn't gaurantee that you will look sexy in it, It has to fit your look or body type too.

Default Re: Can clothes/lingerie alone make a woman sexy?

There is also the old problem that some people just don't take good photos. I think I take the worst photos on the face of the planet. Everytime I see one I think..IS that REALLY me???

And hell some people just don't know the right things to wear. I dress according to my body type, so I am not going to look so hot in certain peices of lingere, I have learned what looks good on me and what makes me look like a frilly christmas ham.

So stick a person who doesn't photograph well in the wrong lingere without a clue of how to pose sexy and Tada! It all falls apart real quick (if this doesn't make sense please keep in mind I am on a lot of cold medication )

Some people/women can be VERY sexy when you know them or meet them in person but are just awkward in lingerie. Also, like EvilMJ says, some women don't know how to dress in what is best for their figure.

If someone is not sexy or incapable of portraying sexy, there isn't an outfit anywhere that will falsely make them appear sexy.

Conversely, some women/men are more sexy in clothing or lingerie than they are naked! Some just don't look as good naked and others loose their sense of flirt/self-confidence when they take that outfit off.

It's all in the attitude! It shows in a picture and of course, in person. A lady can look sexy in an over-sized sweatshirt while doing the dishes. Believe me, I know. It matters less what you've got on and totally nude is the least sexy in pictures is my not-so-humble opinion.

By the way, Julie. Where can I find these pictures of you that you spoke of? Dyint to see them!
