Oh my! I've always been interested in pyrex but was always turned off by the price from online stores, etc. My question is this; what do you look for in a good pyrex toy? Can the ridges and bumps be too agressive (Pyrex shapes tend to be unlike other types of toys.) I've been considering buying one for my darling girl, and (perhaps BIG perhaps) also using it for anal play for both of us (if the texture isn't too aggressive). So those who've used them - what types of things are good, what should I watch out for?

Go into the "Everything Else" category on the BUY portion of E-Bay and you will find a "Mature Audiences" listing. They will ask you to verify your "maturity" with a CC and then you are in.
Great prices , usually, on most anything you might overpay for in an Adult store.

I've been doing a bit of shopping around. I've found some pyrex toys on ebay for around $15-30 dollars, bid price.
But on the online stores I usually shop at, pyrex toys of similar design and size go for $100-$205 dollars.
My father always taught me, if it sounds to go to be true..it is.
What gives? Am I missing something? inferior glass? rip off scams?
Anyone bought from ebay and have an experience to share? Shed some light for me please.

We have 4 that were bought on ebay...all have been perfect. The oldest is about 3 years old and still as good as new. I too, was leary when I bought the first one but it was fine.

It could be made somewhere where manufacturing costs are lower and sold through channels that have lower costs associated. (China?) It may not be the same glass chemistry as thermal shock resistant borosilicate glass (pyrex).

You can buy a sample, slam it to the sidewalk to break it. If it breaks into large pieces its probably the right glass. If it splits into tiny shards it's not the right glass.

Not to sound really dense - but even if it wasn't the right stuff, wouldn't it still be safe? Assuming one didn't fall down the stairs with the toy inside them? And always checked it for chips and cracks?

I have a glass one, not a pyrex one, and it works just as well as a pyrex one, but at half the cost. If one doesn't go around dropping them on a tile floor, they're not likely to get chipped or broken, and they warm up just as quickly as pyrex.

As for their absolute hardness, well yes, they ARE completely rigid. If you're turned on by rubbing and impaling yourself with hard, inanimate objects (I used to get myself off with a ceramic mickey mouse ... don't ask :-)))), they're great, but if you only like the "real thing" feel you get from cyberskin, you won't like them.
