| mildly abnormal | I was reading a recent post by DBStPete about a cherry scented dildo and I find my self wondering if there might be some kind of possible health risk there. In light of the fact that I will be attending my first ever sex toy party in about a week and a half (as I mentioned elsewhere), here's my question: What do you consider the major warning signs of a badly made sex toy? Would a scented dildo pose a risk?

The scent chemicals certainly won't help with that. For the best rundown on dildos and materials that I have ever seen, go to WWW.toysinbabeland.com by the way do you know whats green and smells like pork? Ted |

But, man, I wish I'd thought to ask... We recently bought a toy that has the most obnoxious scent I've ever smelled... When we are done playing, I can't just leave it at the bed side - I have to carry it to a different room... It doesn't smell bad, it is just incredibly overwhelming... Oh - and Ted - I know the answer to the riddle ![]() Spoomonkey

The jelly stuff is much more pourous (sp?) and tends to hold bacteria in even when you wash it. The only way I can use a jelly toy is with a condom on it and basically I've had enough bad luck with the jellies that I won't even use them then. |

J's favorite toy is a jelly dildo, but we had another one I finally just threw away because it just never seemed clean, even after washing. Nothing beats silicone, IMHO, but they sure are expensive, as are the glass ones. We've never tried one, but maybe we'll save our pennies and get one someday. -B

![]() They're a bit harder, I suppose. The woman at the sex toy store suggested heating it in the microwave or chilling it in the freezer for some fun hot/cold play. Because of their density, they hold their temperature for quite a while. The other thing is, like silicone, they can be cleaned by boiling without any fear that they'll melt. -B

I have played with them. They are extremely smooth and like Brad said can be heated or chilled. They come in numerous shapes (some really odd shapes) and sizes and although not something that I would grab everytime I got ready for a toy, they are a nice break from the normal dildo. Teresa

(Have you seen the silicon bakeware? Spooky) A glass dildo is just oh so different. Smoother, firmer and like others have said, it can be warm or cold and even that feels different. It doesn't 'give' like other materials do. If you're playing with a friend always use a condom, and change them when you change people! It's just too easy to transfer something odd - even when both of you are "clean." And then, of course, there are vegetables...

| Active Member | I use to sell toys at home parties, I actually heard many complaints about the scented jellies and scented lubes especially scented anal lubes causing rashes and irritations. My recommendation would be CyberSkin products - not the knock offs - especially the CyberSkin Cock with Balls (nonvibrating) add a little lube and it is the closest you'll come to the real thing. Put it and the lube (unflavored unscented old fashion lube)in the microwave for 30 sec. or hot water and enjoy. ![]() |

Guess we need to avoid that material in the future. Never had any problems with irritation with plastic or latex (toys or condoms). And OT...silicon bakeware just seems wrong! |

| Swingers Board Addict | Just FYI... Most of the toys made, as long as they do not have electric/batteries can me washed and sanitized in the dishwasher. Until my father-in-law moved in and started doing the dishes for me, I would use the dishwasher all the time.
