I've looked at some the the Religion and swinging posts, and at some of the Public Figure posts, but this is a weird blend of the two. My wife is a congregational Rabbi. Judism doesn't have the same hangups about sin and damnation regarding sex, but it makes up for it by being a small and chatty community. Also, we get recongnized EVERYWHERE, in places we don't expect. Like on a beach in Cancun, or a hot tub in Wisconsin. We run into congregents in the oddest places where we least expect it. I'm still learning about all this stuff, so let me just put my biggest fear out there right now: We get recognized at a swinging event by a congregant, or their family/friend, and word gets back. She gets canned from her job and can never be hired again as a religious leader. So people who have been around the block, what do you think? Am I wise to be super cautios about this or am I just being paranoid. Anyone actually know any swinging clergy? |

She gets recognized at a swinging event. She is not the only one there to have sex is she? They can only out her by outing themselves. As long as you are descrete in posting pictures on the net where anyone can see them, you should be okay. So far we have been okay, and we are both frequently in the 5 local news-papers.

Don't do the public swinging activities and don't swing with locals. Establish out of town contacts and travel for your playing activities. Find people with your educational and professional level that have as much to lose as you do.

Thanks both of you. I can appreciate the "everyone is in this together" concept. She's told me stories about her dating days when the men she would meet could not keep it together when they found out her proffession. She's looking for a romp in the hay, and they are suddenly appologizing for swearing in her presence. I've seen how personal expectations warp in the presence of clergy, so we are testing these waters carefully. I heartens me greatly to hear how completely unfazed you are by my question !

We've limited our contacts for this reason and to lessen the chance of getting STDs. Sometimes we've searched long times for partners but it's always been worth the wait. We've had to be discrete. Our business is such that many of our retailers would not do business with us if they learned we're perverts. ![]() By the same token, our partner-couples have also had to stress discretion. Among them (five couples in twenty-five years) were a doctor, a college professor, and a corporate officer, all of whom had a lot to lose if they had been found out. There was never a problem and they were among our longest-term friendships. The best advice we can give you is to be careful and take no chances no matter how attractive a couple you may not be sure of may be. Mr. Alura |

Relax and join in the discussions. Please encourage your wife to post, too. By the way, from Oklahoma. Please stop by the introductions forum and tell us more about yourselves, with discretion in mind, of course. ![]() Mr. Alura |
