Hi there, I was wondering if any of you have any comments on religion? I am a born again Christian but am unsure of entering into this lifestyle because of the religious rammifications. I struggle with it internally but would appreciate any input on the subject you can offer. Is it right? Is it wrong? How many of you are Christians? Any input is welcomed. Thanks alot! Ntrmoyle |

I guess the first question would be, Do you attend a church regurally? If the answer is yes, then are you prepared to give it up for swinging? Any church that preaches from the bible, baptist, methodist, ect... is going to tell you that it is adultery and it is wrong. The bible says that it is wrong to even look at another women with lustful eyes let alone have sex with her. On this particular site I am pretty confident that everyone will tell you that you have to live with the decisions you make. If you and your wife choose to swing and you are found out (these things have a way of getting out) be prepared for the consiquences. Can you live with them?? It also sounds to me that you are not real confident of this desicion. How does your wife feel? You have to weigh your decision to follow God and your desire to swing. Only YOU and your Wife can make that decision.

ntrmoyle, Before you come to any conclusions, here's a link below that may help, and I suggest that BOTH of you read & research the lifestyle TOgether! There's also other helpful links on that site that may be very useful in your "research". http://www.swingersboard.com/ubb/smile.gif After you both have gathered up the facts needed, then you can make your OWN decisions from there. http://www.swingersboard.com/ubb/wink.gif Keep us posted on whatever your decisions may be... http://www.swingersboard.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.libchrist.com/ Good luck & God Bless! http://www.swingersboard.com/ubb/smile.gif CyberWife |

This is a very hot subject and you are quite likely to be judged right off as a sinner. If you REALLY read the bible instead of just taking everyones word for what it says you will find that it does not say you will burn in hell for even 'lusting' at another woman. I really do not want to get deeply into this because I already know I'll piss off a great deal of people, but as my wife said, do your own research and READ the bible to see what it really says. Follow the link she posted and then use your own mind to make a decision. And you do not have to give up church to be a swinger. Christ said Church is not for those who are perfect, it's for those that are not perfect. Perfect people do not need church. Matthew 5:27-31 starting in 28 "But I tell you anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adutery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better to loose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell"... it goes on. Romans 12:13-14 I can give more if I need to. I am certain he could be thrown out of his church. I was found out and thrown out of my Christian church and I had been involved in it for years. That is why I say again... weigh the consiquences and the choices very carefully. 1Corth. 6:13 "but the body was not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord and the Lord for the body. Honestly, if you really want to know if you will be kicked out, call a local church in your denomination, ask them. Don't give your name, but give the circumstances. Yes the church is for imperfect people, but believe me, after you have been "born again" expectations of you change and they expect you to be of a higher standard over those who just attend. Some churches are more liberal then others alot of it will depend upon which demonination you are from. Baptist are very strict. Remember the boycot of Disney for "gay days?" |

lycioos, You believe what YOU want, and you can quote ALL you want from the Bible too, that's your choice... But don't try to condemn others due to YOUR beliefs either! This is NOT a comfortable subject for those of us who know what the Bible REALLY is saying, comparing to those of you who take the "words", and nothing further. There IS more to the Bible then just words...And we refuse to take this subject any further, unless you REALLY understand the Bible. http://www.swingersboard.com/ubb/smile.gif CyberWife |

Ummm...Guys? Are you familiar with the term "Flame Troll"? You know, someone who deliberately posts a very controversial topic on a message board or newsgroup just to sit back and watch everyone go at each other? Usual topics are religion, sex, abortion (a biggie), or more specific to the type of site. If this person was honestly asking a question, they were providied with a link, and advice to help them make that decision. I'm sure they are familiar with the Bible, or else they wouldn't be asking the question. So, quoting it is not really helpful or productive. No one here is going to change anyone else's mind about religion, and the fact is, we shouldn't even be trying to. Bottom line, if you feed a troll, they just get fat and mean and cause even more problems. If, on the other hand, you starve them, they move on to better grazing grounds. Trust me on this one. Just let it go. BTW, I'm Unitarian. It seemed the best way to go for me. I've always had trouble making decisions, and I have a problem with rules and authority. http://www.swingersboard.com/ubb/wink.gif Go figure, there's a religion for that! http://www.swingersboard.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.swingersboard.com/ubb/smile.gif Layla |

Layla, Great point, I couldn't agree with you more. It isn't up to any of us to try to change how others here view and take what the bible says. Let's all practice the same respect as we all talk about and value so highly here. As you said a link has been provided and they can take it from there. After all we all got into this for our own reasons and need to decide if we can live with it in the other aspects of our lives. No one can make that decision for us. I hope no one here is willing to allow themselves to be dragged down to the schoolyard days. I think everyone here is far to mature for that. This is far to controversy a topic for here. Well this is my two cents worth. Everyone have a great day. Janette of CanadianCouple |

Julies right cyberwife. I'm not understanding why you felt the need to be so deffensive. I was merely quoting word for word what the bible says. That is what it says. As far as how he will be treated, as others before have also said, it depends on which type of denomination they belong to. I am certain, as I said, Baptist and other churches which are firm bible readers and take it as it says in it's litteral context will not be so forgiving of the swinging lifestyle. His choice needs to be his choice, but he needs to be aware of the controvercey he will be faced with. Since non of us can really seem to be in sinc with each other even here, can you imagine how the church will view it?

Ok sorry I been gone awhile. been moving and out in the filed playinf with guns for unky sam. Here where my up bringing and schooling, ( most of which was Christian) come into play. First off I was raised Church of Christ, converted to baptist, then slid into fundemental independaent baptist, Even flirted with methodist, charismatic, luthran, etc. etc. And my sis can confirm. When you are looking at what the bible says you have to look at when, where, and to whom it was writen. it was writen primarily for the jewish folks ( frame of mind wise, not that anyone can not use whats there ) as for my wife and I who are practicing catholics now... ( big jump huh?) we feel that anything done in marriage, and with the consent of the spouse, is a ok. Now some, probly many won't agree with me, but thats my feeling and take on it. remember the jews kept the females at a lower status. and the men Higher, thats why there are fewer women mentioned than men, and their roles seem to be less significant. ( except in the Marys and a couple others Case.) Now. what you have to do, is talk with your spouse, and pray about it, since you are christian, and see what impresion you come to, after all convictions are personal, between you GOD and your spouse. No preacher or religion can make those choices for you. After all, some Religions preach that it is wrong to Drink alcohol at all, ( and it actually say " be not drunk with wine were in is excess" , it does not say do not drink, but rather use moderation. ) I hope this is a help, feel free to drop me a line if you need any other questions, drop The moderator a note and she will forward, I already set it up Kay? |
