Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

Holidays are nuts anyway usually. How are you juggling family, friends, and your poly relationships this year?

It's funny what you make time for when you're motivated. In some ways, the holidays are the perfect time to share with those you're especially close to. And if you find yourself squeezed by Christmas and New Year's, there's always the weekend in between

We went to Florida for Christmas this year, just so I didn't have to cook for dozens of people. We had a blast, and just got back tonight. We're exhausted, of course.

Tomorrow I'm travelling with my partner to go see his family a few hours away. We come back to attend a family friendly party on New Year's, then head out again this weekend to go see my husbands family. We get lots of points with our hotel chain with all this travelling! I think because our family is blended, it might be a little less effort to fit everyone in. Add to that we're "out" to all our close friends, and its even easier.

I am glad that you brought up this topic. I am working on putting together notes for a poly talk group that I am a co-facilitator for. Our topic in December is Poly and the holidays.
I would love to know if anyone has any advise to share....

Poly has lots of scheduling problems, and nothing exacerbates anyone's scheduling problems like the end of the year holidays.

The math aware people may see a pun in poly. The number of combinations of relationships grows in polynomially.

I'm spending the holidays with my hubby and my family. I'm taking a break from poly life for a little while. I'm finding that its a good time to re evaluate my wants and needs.

We spent the holiday alone as our kids where all away this year. (Happens every other year) We did spend the 23rd with our friends and did our gift exchange after dinner. Our friends had to be out of town all weekend to see his parents for Christmas so it was quite lonely to be honest. I was rougher than expected spending the first major Holiday away from them.

We are going over to their place tomorrow and the ladies are cooking dinner and we plan on watching the various Live shows and playing games until the little one goes to bed. Then it will be relaxing time for us adults.

Despite not being "out" as poly, we together visited our relatives, particularly the partents, for all four of us. Since we are known as friends, it was great all around.

Our "third" came up from out of state and has spent the week with us. We're not sure if we're a poly MFM yet, but it seems like it more and more each year. We're having fun. A lot of fun. Giggling in the hallways fun.
