An offline discussion brought us to write down our open relationship rules to be shared with others. While we know exactly what they mean, I wondered how (for their terseness) clear and unambiguous they might be. If it makes any difference, we're on the "poly" side of things, preferring long term friendships. Comments on our word smithing, please? Rules of Engagement

I only see two that could be a bit (or more than a bit) ambiguous...
What one person's opinion of balanced is and what another (even a spouse) feels may often be two different things. On the second, is information only to be given when solicited/asked for? Or is the partner with the information supposed to know when the other partner needs said information? Would it not be better to just always give information? |
