Rules for our open/ poly relationships

An offline discussion brought us to write down our open relationship rules to be shared with others. While we know exactly what they mean, I wondered how (for their terseness) clear and unambiguous they might be.

If it makes any difference, we're on the "poly" side of things, preferring long term friendships.

Rules of Engagement

1. Come home when called
   1. When a choice has to be made, choose each other
   2. Keep in touch, be traceable
   3. Balance time, attention, expenses
   
   
2. Careful what comes home
   1. Practice safe sex
   2. Leave drama to others
   3. Avoid attracting the morals police
   
   
3. Keep what we have
   1. Communicate emotions, commitment, and connection
   2. Give information as needed or solicited
   3. Go with the slowest; everyone has a veto

I only see two that could be a bit (or more than a bit) ambiguous...

• Give information as needed or solicited

What one person's opinion of balanced is and what another (even a spouse) feels may often be two different things.

On the second, is information only to be given when solicited/asked for? Or is the partner with the information supposed to know when the other partner needs said information? Would it not be better to just always give information?
