While I think it's a bit of a stretch to try to tie together poly with reality dating shows, at least the article gets polyamory out there in the mainstream a bit more.

Interesting question... watching enough of these reality dating shows I've always wondered when it would happen that someone would chose both of the final options.

I have always thought that Polyamory would have a more vanilla appeal compared with swinging. I mean most folks have and understand very close friendships with the opposite sex, that are not sexual in nature. I would also imagine most everyone would find it easier to go that next step and expose that part of themselves to a close friend verses a relative total stranger. If poly ever got the type of hype swinging gets, we might find more people open to alternative relationships altogether.

That was actually a good article and I've wondered the few times I've watched those shows how they were going to choose between the final two.

There is a show being marketed to the broadcasters and cable companies call Polly and Marie (for Polyamory). Google and watch the trailer. Looks much better then Swingtown.

As a futurist, IMHO there is no question that as people are able to remove cultural conditioning and mapping from the mind and view things fresh that the poly way will be embraced.
