Wow, after reading the first few posts in this thread I was all excited! I haven't tried to make a room dark in years, but I used to have 'blackout shades' in our babies rooms. They were the pull down kind that went behind the curtains. I had them oversized and velcro tape to keep them closed around the edges. They made the room VERY dark. But was it blackout dark?? I'm not sure. It was years ago and I just don't remember. Worth a try, though.
