Obviously there's no set rules or anything like that when this happens. You can just go with the flow. Some people have the fourth taking pictures or video. Not everybody does that (we don't) so that might not be an option. Enjoying the show is always an option. Sometimes I get my wife a glass of water. Sometimes the odd person out will just lay next to their spouse and talk quietly with them while things are going on. Etc..etc..

The odd person out isn't really 'out'; even if they're not directly playing, they're still involved in one way or another, unless they leave the room.
