How many people to make an Orgy?

After a night out recently, we were leaving with 2 other couples from our off-premise club. I commented that we were going to have an orgy. A person at the club said it takes 8 people to be an orgy not 6.

Thought this would be interesting. So how many people does it take to have an orgy?

By the way we have been with more than 8 at one time.

Our usual group of regulars is 10-12 an orgy could start with 8 for sure. A great time is to buy a ton of baby oil and rent one of those kids bouncing castles.

Can't say that we'd ever given the matter much (any?) thought, but 10 or more sounds about right, in that it's the figure that fits best with the image conjured in our heads when the word 'orgy' is mentioned.

Interestingly, none of the dictionary definitions we've seen mention specific figures . . .

We really don't know.

We do know that five does not feel like an orgy, but 17 sure as hell did.

We have gotten together with 5 and/or 6 couples a few times over the years and it was great fun. The very best was when we squeezed into a room that was darkened like a dark-room. No light at all...it was more like "Oh here's a body, I think I'll play with it!"

The more the merrier, IMHO. I do tend to think of 8 people or less more of a small gathering/get together...and they have their purpose and are nice on occasion.

BTW, Brit, I think your sources need to update their definitions. While *in the olden days* alcohol/drugs may have played a large part in orgies, I don't think that's necessarily the case in today's age. Not that I haven't ever been to an orgy that is alcohol free (heck in college all our orgies were as much about the booze as it was about the sex)...most of them do have alcohol but people are over indulging in the sex, not the booze. Their definition leads one to believe that you can't involve in fantastic group sex without the aid of alcohol or that it's a requirement (well the first two definitions did).
