We will have guests for the evening or the night when the kids are away at friends houses or Grandparents, but getting all 3 out the same night does take some planning. The few times that we have had the unicorn over the kids have been here and thats ok because she loves our kids and we have only our master suite and the guest bedroom upstairs on the second floor the kids rooms are in the lower level and first floor, so when the play is done she goes to the guest room to sleep and comes back and joins us when she wakes up. We did have the 16yo asking questions one day when he noticed J's jewlery sitting on my night stand the next morning but that was easily waved off as J and Mommy were in here talking while you and I watched that movie last night. Also I installed one of those motion sensor alarms on the stairs so we know when the kids are comming up.

We don't have kids so it's pretty easy for us to entertain at our house and we don't mind doing so if we are comfortable with the people. We have a spare bedroom so if folks need to spend the night that is an option as well.

One of the two kids are always home and my parents live a few hundred feet away. I'd sure hate for my dad to wander over, come onto the back porch and knock on the 8' by 4' sliding GLASS door...he's not judgemental but I'm afraid that would be more than even he could take.

A side note...my parents have never come over without calling first in the 14.5 years we've lived next to them...but the risk is too high.
