Hunter: You go out and hunt for your meals
Farmer: You sow the fields and eventually reap the benefits
Trapper: You set the bait and wait for dinner to come to you
Gatherer: You collect as much as you can now for eating later
Prey: Whatever happens, happens.

A brief explanation:

Hunters typically go to clubs, find an interesting prospect and make their move. Online, they write letters to who look interesting. Many single men are considered hunters.

Farmers look for friendships or relationships in the swing world. They don't want quickies and want to get to know the others before playing with them.

Trappers don't have to do anything. They just have to BE THERE and people come to them. Couples posting pictures of ONLY the woman to catch the attention of prospects are trappers. Single females can also be considered trappers.

Gatherers collect information. Names, friends, phone numbers, experiences ... they want to collect NOW for use LATER. New swingers can be gatherers as they are collecting as much information from others NOW so they know what expect in the future.

Being prey is self-explanatory. You sit there and whatever happens, happens. A totally "go with the flow" kinda person.

So which are you?

Well, I thought I knew what I was on first reading the question, but after I read your brief explanations I had to pick all of them because they all apply at various times.

Without the explanation I would have picked hunter.

GT: Yeah, I think we can be different types too, but I think one is sometimes more dominant than the others.

In the beginning, I was your typical single guy: hunter. Emailed lotsa people, hoping to hit the bull's eye. And like the typical newbie single guy, I really sucked at it.

As I began to find out more about the lifestyle (gatherer), I calmed down and concentrated on making friends and getting to know people (farming). Made lotsa friends online, some locally .. and that really worked out well.

Then about 5 years ago I realized I didn't have to do anything. Being a single bimale, it put me as a rarity, kinda like a single female (but nowhere near as popular!! LOL). I simply found that people would just contact me out of the blue, even from out of state, simply because of who I am.

So most of my successes come from being a trapper. Sometimes a farmer .. rarely a hunter. I am always prey when I go to the clubs--which really sucks--so I hardly ever go. So I am ..

Mostly trapper
Sometimes farmer
Sometimes gatherer
Rarely hunter
Rarely prey

And by the way, GT: I looked at your Swing Lifestyle profile. You really put some good bait out there!

We're farmers and prey. I can't tell you the last time we initiated contact on Swing Lifestyle, and we usually go to the socials just to get to know new people and socialize--not necessarily to hook up. Works for us.

I feel, if someone that we both like. than it's on. If we are in a crowd were we can't find anyone that we both like, we just socialize and get to know people better and just make new friends. So we chose both prey and gathers.

I guess we are farmers, we want as much info on people first, couldn't see myself at the clubs dropping for anyone, i was never into that before, never did the onenight stand thing ever. i want playmates for the longterm.

I guess we are in the "prey" category. We don't keep refreshing our ads, we don't really email anybody that doesn't email us first. In the beginning we did, but we are more established as swingers now and have enough friends that we don't have to "hunt". Nowdays we go to parties or out on dates and if it happens, great. If it doesn't no big deal.

We didn't vote because we're nomadic buffalo hunters. We roam the plaines and, should we come upon another couple who is both interesting and interested, we have bison steaks together, sampling each others' entrees.

I would have initially said Hunter as well... but like Good Times at different times we are all of them. I guess you would say that we are resourceful, we find our food however works best for us at the time

We are now.... kind of on a diet

We do however, have loaded weapons.

Although our traps are a little rusty, they still work.

We have plowed the fields and are ready for a new crop to be put in.

But then again, we would be pretty easy prey.

We choose farmer and prey, we prefer to know a little about our partners before meeting or playing. We don't usually initiate a lot of contacts but respond to those that contact us that Mrs. Red finds attractive.
