| Swingers Board Addict | I thought I had posted to this one but guess after looking through it I voted but never posted.... I am proud to say I, MrsVan was a band geek I did not belong in the other groups as that was just not personality and style and band was fun for me (even the band camps were awesome) facelick Stifler's favorite movie...Oh, I did it...You guys are rubbing off on me I meant MrVan's favorite movie now thanks to the Ohio meet up is American Pie...But it is funny because everyone at the meetup sees him as Stifler but the running joke in our house is that I was Michelle....MrVan after watching the movie would always joke with me by saying "this one time, at band camp..." and if you have seen the movie you know the line very well...But trust me I did not insert any round shiny cold objects in my pussy...And for those of you who have not seen American Pie, Michelle is also a redhead like myself and played the flute (which all resembles me) except I did not play with my flute the way she did. But you know that some woman like the real thing and enjoy their toys too, but to take something metal that is cold....that would be a moment killer...I like something warm and hard inside of me. MrsVan | |

We were wannabe hippies I guess ![]()

I had a few friends and we would pretty much take anyone. if someone new came in and was not immideately accepted into some other group we would usually invite them to sit with us. Many of the popular people spent their first day at our table. |

| Doing it our way... | I was a cross between loner/nerd/Other (there's no fat kid label on the poll). Straight As and all my classes where honors level or AP, very few friends, overweight, and worked 30+ hours a week trying to save money to go to college. I would have visited Julie's table once a week, and the other four days I would have been in the library trying to get ahead on my homework before going to work at 2:30 p.m. I don't miss high school one bit! Thank dog college was a lot more fun!

It wasn't bad when any of my friends had the same lunch period for too much of the time they didn't and I was often eating alone and wishing I could escape to the library. |

| insert witty banter here | I was definitely a prep in my "style" of clothes (still am ... in fact, I have on a blue plaid skirt on today, with a white shirt and blue cartigan sweater and my wonderful weejuns. I could walk into most catholic high schools and fit right in). I also like to shop in the "preppy girl stores" (as my sk8ter punk son describes). But I wasn't a partier; I was quite (which no one believes that I know now), and had a handful of good friends. I hated hated HATED clicks (and still do!), and refused to be lumped into a group. Mr. Fun says he was a "freak" -- I need to read the wikipedia definitions and find out where a freak fits in. He loved math and science, and was an electronics kid. Today, except for my preppy dressing, I'd classify us as both nerds or geeks. It took me a long time to accept I was a geek, but I've embraced my geekness ... |

I ran track and cross-country, so I had jock friends. I was in the marching band from 8th grade on, so I had lots of band geek friends. I was heavily involved with OM (odyssey of the mind: a problem solving/engineering competition) so I had lots of nerd friends. I was president of Interact (high school division of the Rotary Club) so I had some Prep friends. And I was a huge Motley Crue fanatic, and loved Anthrax, Metallica, and Megadeth, so I fit in well with the metalheads. I would go back and forth between them, and always seemed to fit in well. I guess I'm a social chameleon. Amy was a jock. She played softball and had scholarships to play volleyball.

| Julie's Helper | We are mid-80s HS grads. Fairly small schools, graduating class 100-150, total enrollment maybe 600-700 kids. I was in what I call the Invisible group of Loners. Above average student but not straight As, didn't play HS sports, didn't party, didn't have girlfriend or even date until Senior year, listened to British Invasion rock (Beatles, Who, Led Zeppelin, etc), loved reading, quiet in class and never got in trouble, could care less about Prom/fashion/trends, small group of Invisible steady friends, knew the stoners, jocks, preps, etc. and not looked down upon by them but not part of them either. She was in the Invisible group too, but did play in the marching band, which was actually a very big deal at her school. They were consistently very good and always winning stuff. Didn't date, not big into music or fashion, didn't party, etc. Neither of us hit our stride until college. That's when we came out of our shell and partied with friends, knew we wanted more than the traditional life in our home town, etc. High school is just kind of there for us - wasn't good, wasn't bad. In fact, we have never gone back for a single reunion, just not something we care much about. She still keeps in occasional contact her HS friends, him not. |

| Swingers Board Addict Join Date: Oct 2005 Posts: 169 Location: new york | Graduated HS in 1970. It was a long time ago but I didn't fit into any one catagory so I checked "other". I was in the band (trumpet), got a couple of varsity letters in sports, played keyboards for a garage band, not the "sharpest tool" in the academic shed but smart enough to get into college and eventually law school and worked after school and on the weekends. So I guess that I'm part band geek/jock/hippie/nerd. |
