What is your approach to condom use?

After the recent threads on condom use protecting (or not) one against STD's I decided to look and see if there was a poll to see what people use condoms for. There is one asking IF you use condoms generally,on regarding condom use and age, and several on reasons why or why not to, but nothing like this.

So, the question comes down to a) do you use condoms at all, b) if so what do you use them for.

We consider ourselves "condom only" - but then again our rules are for us and we will bend them if it feel it is appropriate to do so. We have played without with some friends - but we have been very comfortable about doing so; very confident in their decision making abilities

For oral - no... Never...

For intercourse, condoms in all cases but two women who I have known for some time. Both of those exceptions are MFM playmates.

I have never been asked to wear a condom when oral has been performed on me, and I never have worn a condom in those cases.

It is well known around here that we prefer not to use condoms, but we also respect other peoples boundries and will use them if requested. So I marked "Sometimes use them for intercourse, never for oral" even though we rarely use them and I have had a woman perform oral on me with one once.

As much as I hate condoms, I do feel they are necessary for intercourse. I have been known to stop in the heat of the moment because neither of us had a condom.

Don't use them for oral though.

It may seem pretty stupid, but we have gone bareback before, so to be completely honest, I had to select sometimes for intercourse, never for oral. Condoms, however, are the rule... not the exception. The couples we have played bareback with we felt very comfortable with and we were ensured that we followed up with appropriate testing before we played with other couples.

We're a go-slow couple (also in the "mature" age range). We almost never play on a first meeting; we spend a lot of time getting to know prospective partners before the groping starts. Then, "being comfortable" to us means that if we're not comfortable doing it bareback with you, we're not comfortable doing it with you at all. Basically, we trust people, not latex. That said, we will always respect the wishes of the other couple if they prefer wrapping. We would use rubbers if we were doing the house party scene or on-premise group gropes, but that simply isn't our style of swinging.

We tend to follow the pace of the slower couple. As a general rule we use condoms when we first meet a couple until we feel comfortable with them. But in general we prefer not to use them - we prefer no glove..........

It just feels better ...................

So far I am 100% on condoms for intercourse--I guess I have never reached the point of being that comfortable with my partners. I have surprised dome partners when I produced a condom and they were expecting bareback. I think I commented on this in other postings. But for oral, maybe it is safer but I just can't see it. Maybe the penalties just aren't on the same level. I understand Herpes is fairly common and I guess I have to take a fatalistic approach that eventually I will contract it. But its not like the death penalty of HIV.

Never quite got the taste for rubber.

But as far as intercourse goes, a condom will be used at all times. Unless it is with my hubby.

We use them all the time...........when we're playing. When with each other, there's nothing like the bareback feeling. Honestly, I hate them, my DH hates them, but we use them anyway. Not worth the risk, IMHO.

We always use condoms with others....always. Never for oral and never with each other. It's not only for protection against STD's, but protection against pregnancy, too. I can't imagine getting a call from a lady stating that my hubby was the father of her soon to be child.....MrsHidalgo is right.......Not worth the risk. We do hate condoms though!
