| I think..."Ah-oh...better hide the cookies" Seriously? Weight is just one of the things that I notice when I meet a woman for the first time. How well she carries that weight, as well as her personality and grooming, are also important. Some women are actually more attractive when they're a little zaftig. One thing I ask myself is "how comfortable is she in her own skin?" Women who are comfortable with their own bodies are a turn-on, which may be one way of determining whether they're "Big and Beautiful" or just plain "Big." If they're so ashamed or embarrassed by their weight that they don't want to be seen nude even in very dim light, chances are I'm not going to find them attractive. Another place where I do draw the line is at "aprons." NO "APRONS!" If I think I'm going to have to push someone's tummy out of the way to perform some sex act, the deal is off. I'd rather go watch NASCAR or something...and I HATE NASCAR. |

Ok, have to weigh in here (no pun intended) with my thoughts. I am a size 14 namely due to my hips - waist is small but the hips are like a cruise ship. Give that the average size of a woman is a 14 and over half the population is such, I can't really justify being "obese". A dear friend of mine, who loves my breast and squishy-ness, calls me soft and curvy. That I like. I try to carry myself well and wear flatering clothes, so most people have no idea what size I am unless I tell them, and like Evil MJ, I have a heavy bone structure that makes my weight heavier than my dress size.IMO, BBW winds up being a euphamism for "overweight" because it sounds better than hefty or obese. I say call yourself a beautiful curvy woman and be done with it. |

I think it's a shame... not that someone may be of or exceed a particular size, but the fact that as a society we resort to labeling women in a category just for that. And what's even more sadder is that there are those women who take pride in being labled as such. Just be happy with who u are and those that love u, not because you "fit" under someone's label for how or what they think things should be.

I must say, that after reading some of the comments in this thread, I have taken out the BBW label from our profile. I am curvy, voluptous, plushy, sexy, fun and beautiful. It was a real eye opening thread. MUAH! E |

OK Guys & Gals, BBW means Big Beautiful Woman.. Let's break that down. Big...(my definitions) A large woman..probably wider than tall. JnCC said it best: "How well she carries that weight, as well as her personality and grooming, are also important. Some women are actually more attractive when they're a little zaftig. One thing I ask myself is "how comfortable is she in her own skin?" Women who are comfortable with their own bodies are a turn-on, which may be one way of determining whether they're "Big and Beautiful" or just plain "Big." If they're so ashamed or embarrassed by their weight that they don't want to be seen nude even in very dim light, chances are I'm not going to find them attractive." Beautiful As for this one... You have to be beautiful...not just because you are big. I like DGrey's description: "I consider myself and describe as such in our profile, as a BBW. I am not at my ideal weight (not for lack of trying though) but I feel that I carry myself well, I take care of myself and take extreme pride in my physical appearance. I have had people say to me, "Oh no, there's no way you could weigh that" as EvilMJ stated. For me, it's all a state of mind. When the lights are low and intimacies are being shared, I feel that when it's skin on skin, who cares if the skin is a size 2 or 20." It is how you carry that extra weight. Woman Clearly...you have to be a woman...exams for this are down the hall and (a little) to the left. Male D |

So it always amazes me that people will make comments about someone else's weight, lying about it in their profile, posting old pics, etc., but at the same time I'd bet many of these same people would be all over Mrs. WS at a party because they really have no idea because she carries her weight well. It's also always interested me that the majority of men that are attracted to Mrs. WS have über-skinny wife's or are gym-rats themselves. In my experience hanging-out with "the guys" (all vanilla) there is a huge double standard. They want their wife to be a certain image and they want a girlfriend on the side that is plushier. We go to strip clubs and they go ga-ga over the very women they call fat outside the club, the girls with naturally larger breasts and some hips. But their wife back at home is a pixie little thing that they bitch about everytime she gains a pound. As one vanilla aquaintance once said to me "one for show, one for go". All I could do was shake my head and think to myself "what a jerk". He doesn't want to be seen with what he considers a "fat chick" but he sure wants to ride one. I understand everybody has their preferences regarding who they are attracted to, which is fine. I'm not saying everybody should be attracted to everybody else. I'll be the first to admit that I am most attracted to plushy women. I like women because they are different then me. They are soft and curvy. I also like natural breasts. But this doesn't mean that pixie-ish women with fake boobs are a "show stopper". It has much more to do with whether there is chemistry between us or not. For me personally, it's the variety that makes the world go around and I sure as hell won't discount someone because they do not fit a certain image I have in my head. So bring em' all on! Skinny, fat, short, tall, and any combination thereof! Mr. WS

Now back to the OP. It seems that so many adds use BBW, where they are quite unattractive, that I take the spoo tract to the point I forgot what the 'other b' was and in my mind I just read it 'big bodied woman'. Personally I see no point to putting it in an add, anyone can be a big bodied woman but not everyone is a big beautiful woman.

So being critical of "fat chicks" is okay... but being critical of those who are critical of "fat chicks" isn't? And yes, I may be on one today.

The fact is even skinny women lie about their weight. That is why we don't put much cred in it. We prefer to judge a person's attractiveness to us by more then just a profile on a swingers site. More is important to us then just stats. Yes they can post old photos, but they can't lie when you meet them in person. Mr. WS

- although you ended up answering our question none-the-less. At first it seemed to us that you were putting no credence in weight stats, yet you were trusting of profile photos. You clarified (changed your stance) in your subsequent post where you acknowledge that people do post old photos, "but they can't lie when you meet them in person." Although we never alluded (or as you say, "eluded") to any point of view in the past - we are going to assume that the vast majority of people who mis-state their weight believe themselves to be overweight (as opposed to "skinny"). We will continue to lay off the bulk of your other (previous) post, because we assume you wrote with tongue in cheek. We believe, however, that you changed the entire tone of this thread (from positive to negative).

I consider BBW to mean women who feel they are at least 50 pounds overweight. It's their view of themselves. Since all ads have a place to list your height and weight I don't see the need to use 'BBW' in a profile, especially if a woman also includes a picture of herself; her pictures will give people what they need to make their decision about how big or beautiful she is and if they find her attractive. I tend to think BBW means a woman who is significantly overweight also. To me, a size 12 woman would not be a BBW, but a size 20 woman would. Right or wrong, that's my perception. Quote:
. So, you can't always tell from the pictures. I think using BBW is just another way to make sure that people know beforehand.Pepper
