Size 6's Speak Out

This thread is inspired by "The Beautiful People...Huh?" thread.

There have been a lot of threads, like that one, posted about body image issues. Most of the people that respond seem to be the "un-6's" as Mrs. NIC said. Where are the 6's? I know you're out there.

I am a size 6 myself, but a soft, curvy 6, not a toned, hard-bodied 6 that I'd like to be. I have the same body image issues as many of the un-6's. I worry too that people that are in better shape than me won't be interested. I dress well and get a lot of looks in vanilla places, such an ego boost! Not to brag but I got checked out no less than 10 times at the local Walmart the other day. I love it when men look when they are with the wife/GF. I was with hubby at the time. He thinks its funny when he catches a guy looking and the guy quickly looks away. If he only knew!

Anyway, I'm rambling. The point is this.....we all have body image issues. Some people think they are too short, too tall, too fat, too skinny, too tan, too pale, too many stretchmarks, cellulite, boobs are too big, too small, etc. There are an equal number of people that find those things sexy, ok maybe not the stretchmarks and cellulite but those can be overlooked.

No one is going to be everyone's fantasy. I, personally, don't find body builder, Arnold-type guys sexy. They are many women's fantasies but I like my men a little thinner, fit but not overly-so. Its just a preference not a judgement. I would not shun such a man, I just probably wouldn't be turned-on by him, although a great personality might change my mind. Can't really say what I like in a woman since I haven't gone there yet, anyone willing to help me with that?

Anyway, we 6's are people too! We are like all of you un-6's, real with insecurities. Give us a chance.

I think there may be a misconception that the 6's may not be interested in people unless they are a 8, 9, or 10, on the "looks meter" if you will, irrational as it may be. Sometimes it's hard to remember, that everyone is people too. All with the same insecurities and hang ups.

There is a lot of truth to what you say. I automatically assume that because I am not a perfect size six that others are not going to want to play with me. If anything, participating in some of the swingers 'dances' and get togethers has proved to me that we are all attracted to different things, and how sexy you are depends on how sexy you feel. I am always surprised when the size 6 people approach me to play, but I am slowly learning to get over that and realize that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes...! Size 0 and up

Despite being fairly confident and comfortable in my own skin for most of my life... I've certainly spent plenty of time, effort and money in attempts to change myself.

Recently, I've pretty much decided that instead of trying to be something else... I'm just gonna look for the people who want what I got.

Will I still eat healthy? exercise? watch my fat intake and cholesterol levels? Yes, because they're healthy things to do. But I'm through with even wanting to be a size 6, because first off I would probably be anorectic thin (probably wouldn't ever be less than a 10-12 no matter what I did). And I'm great with that.

I think not. As I pointed out in my post, (or tried to) I have never been hung up on body issues as some of my friends have. I think I am sexy in my own right, and I am not a 6. To me, it makes no difference.

My curiosity stemmed from wanting to know if 6's want to play with the un's. Do 6's talk about the un's, the way the un's talk about the 6's?

I used to be a size 0, and now 2 chlidren later i'm a size 3, but I still feel as sexy as I did when I was a size 0 or while when I was pregnant at a 7/8. Sexy is in you... not your outer beauty.

Good question. I'm not sure. I'll see if I can find out. I'm a 6, 135-140 lbs. or so, 5'6", 34D if that helps. You probably need metric, right?

I think it is a matter of personal preference. I'm sure there are just as many 6's that would say yes as there are that would say no.

That one works but the funny thing is they start at US size 8. I guess they don't think we 6's exist!
