Maria, I remember a time when Jeff played separate/alone. I think you handled that so well. It seemed above all, you were in tune with yourself. I find that admirable

Do you have advice, you may offer others now ?

I was going to ask the same question, although I remember things a tad differently as to the initial posting, etc. I remember that you, like many of us, "thought it out through your fingers", and it was an interesting thread because you outright admitted your feelings about the entire situation and I appreciate honest posting.

So, a swing-related question: We've not heard if solo play has been repeated. Have you two tried any further solo play?

And a more vanilla topic: Any vacations planned or recently completed? What is your favorite vacation spot? Any "dream" trips sitting there in your head?

I did think it out through my fingers. We have not made the time for any further alone play time, even though at this point it is not entirely off the table. Mostly because we do tend to prefer to play as a couple with couples. And up until recently, it had been about a year since we had swapped with another couple (between his work and my school being so hectic, we were lucky to manage getting to a party once every few months there for a while)...so I kind of wanted to refocus on that.

As for advice, talk talk talk. I'm a brooder by nature, so I tend to turn things over in my mind over and over and over...then flip it around again and do it some more (which in some scenarios can be quite enjoyable...but not usually this one ). For us, that was streching the boundaries in a big way and it was quite uncomfortable to be confronted with feelings that most of us like to think we don't/won't experience (jealousy and insecurity primarily...while logically I know things...to put it mildly, those emotions are entirely illogical).

The last party we went to, he played and I didn't...so I guess that's a type of alone play (I wasn't in the playroom at any time while he was in there). I will say there are still some growing pains where this particuarly topic is concerned.

Thought I would reply to this one separately.

In February we did a weekend trip to New Orleans. It was so much fun, even if the weather got super cold the 2nd day we were there. We can't wait to go back.

My favorite vacation spot is any where there is a beach or lake. Clothing optional is a plus, but not required.

As for the vacation wish list: Vegas, Disney (with and without the kids), the Bahamas, California, D.C., and NYC. And would like to do a cruise of some sort and one of the all inclusive resorts.

The way down the pike dream vacation would be at least a month spent traipsing about Europe and hitting London, Paris, Spain, Rome, Greece, Germany...maybe heading over to Egypt to check out the sights there and then over to Moscow. Ireland. Scotland. India. Japan. China. Hmmmm...better make that at least 2 months. I want to fill up my passport.
