This week's Members of the Week are Ivory Towers. We are glad to have them in the spotlight this week.

Swingers Board interviews are a way for us to get to know each other better. It is a way to acknowledge just how wonderfully varied a community we are. Every Sunday, a new interview will start and the old interview will be locked. Be sure to stop in and get to know them better by asking them every nosy, intimate, personal question you can think of.

Try to ask only one question (or group of questions) per post, to make it easier for the interviewee to answer the questions, and also to allow for others to ask their questions.

Try to keep this thread about the person being interviewed. If you want to comment about things you discover you have in common or just elaborate on a response, pm them and make a new friend or start a new thread about it. This is intended to be a friendly thread, so please don’t ask anything in a purposeful attempt to get a heated debate. Of course, nobody is required to answer a question that they do not want to.

Also, please keep in mind that any answers you post are viewable to complete strangers. There is some risk in that. Again, all questions are optional.

What's your favorite position? Mr: doggie style. Mrs: no real favorite (I like them all).

Who brought up the idea of swinging, and how was it received?

That's sort of a long story, but the short version is as follows. We had a few threesomes with friends earlier in our relationship, and so we'd talked on and off about what counted as cheating all along. Last summer we had another threesome and started talking more seriously about opening our relationship. Mr. was more proactive about setting up the profile and is probably a bit more engaged with the day to day work of setting up meetings, while I like the forums.


How do you prefer to meet new potential playmates?

We've mostly had success on line. We'd like to go to more parties but first of all I'm allergic to smoke and second I'm very much a morning person, falling asleep by 10pm. These two factors make parties and clubs difficult for us!

How often do you swing per month or per week?

We run really hot and cold. At first we were meeting couples almost every weekend, but then we got more selective, the school year got into full swing and we had a period there when we didn't even meet anyone for a month. I think we're averaging once/month or so, but it's in clumps.

What about favorit books?

If you mean books on open relationships, Opening Up is probably the favorite of both of us. If you mean books in general...we're both English teachers. There's not enough space on this site for that list!

traveling are you fans of it or not? and if yes which places are your favorit?

We don't travel much. We'd like to do more, but we always seem to be busy, since one or the other of us often teaches during summer. Also, being vegan complicates things. Of the places we've been, certainly Italy is top of the list.

1) Either is fine, although the documentary would be pretty boring. Our lives have been pretty straightforward. So maybe an indie film--after all indie films are noted for being overly intellectual and dialogue heavy.

2) I once had a bunch of students claim that Kate Beckinsale in Underworld would be a good match for me. I'm perfectly happy with that! Mr. Ivory doesn't know who he looks like, so I'm voting for Jonathan Rhys Meyers (from the Tudors).*

*Truth in advertising--neither of us is that good looking, but that's the whole point of movies, right?

Of course, and he does read the forums as well, although not as regularly as I do.

Honestly, the first thing we'd do is give a lot of the money away. We have everything we need and we love our jobs, so after we paid off our mortgage and the mortgages of our families, we'd probably give away a lot of the rest. I realize that sounds obnoxiously do-goody, but it would be fun to be able to give a huge chunk of money to a cause we believe in and really make a substantial difference.
