I lived for four years in Casper with my first wife and two young daughters. It is a good place for children to grow up. Some of my clients where in the western parts of Wyoming but not as far north as Alpine. When none of the engineers of the main office in Salt Lake City wanted to go to Pocatello to get their boots muddy, I would volunteer to go. I spent some time in Kemmerer at the power plant. Has to be about the coldest place in the USA during the winter. But it's Paradise during the summer. I feel as if I did not see enough of Idaho while I was living out west. ~M

| Now you have us thinking. JoAnn and I are realizing for the first time that our most memorable moments happened on different occasions with different couples. JoAnn remembers her "first" couples exchange partner. He told her she was a "luscious peach" and she remembers a lot from that evening. Almost every "first" in life is exciting. I remember best the evening that a house full of swingers had gathered in the front room to watch a special television program. The hostess was not very interested and TV and neither was I. She winked at me, turned around, bent over the back of the sofa and presented her rear. I entered obligingly. We rocked the sofa and made lots of noise. Might have irritated the TV watchers but I had no sympathy for any of them. What kind of creature goes to a swingers' party to watch TV and ignore the hostess? Quote:
How do we get past the negatives? We go to our corners and sulk for a while, then call up Swingerboard to rant and rave, then feeling cathardic, get up and go at it again. ~M

What? No more questions? Your opportunity, esteemed Swingersboard colleagues, is now. What would you like to know about the SW PA Couple?

How long have you been married and is this a first marriage for either/both of you?

This is not a question, lol, but I wanted to say that your posts are often quite thoughtful, and I appreciate them. Glad you're here.

JoAnn and I are living proof that the interests and preferences of a married couple need not be entirely the same. But we enjoy enough things in-common. And we have sometimes introduce ourselves to new things that we never realized we would enjoy together. Swinging is an example. JoAnn is the one who brought the idea to me. I'm glad she did. Thanks, IvoryTowers couple for the interest.

Is it too late to ask a question? Hope not... How and when did JoAnn bring up the topic of swinging? Were you instantly "into" the idea, or did it take awhile to "warm up" to it? Quick sidenote: She likes the Twilight movie?!?! Really? I read (and loved) the whole series but could NOT get into the movie. It was Edward's fault LOL. Bella and Alice were spot-on though. I'll still probably go see the damn sequel (sigh). |

Oprah was interviewing Steven Segal, a producer who had made a movie about the lifestyle, and couples who were engaged in the lifestyle. At the end of the show, she turns to me and says, "Would you ever do that?" You could have bowled me over with a feather. The "ah, ha" moment for her was that the couples being interviewed were very normal, ordinary people; like us as JoAnn said. Our image of swingers had been more like tall, slim, sun-tanned, BMW-driving, jet setters. I could elaborate for hours on this story but you have the essentials. I did not read the Twilight books so had no point of reference. But to JoAnn, all of the characters played in the movie seemed to fit the images she had in her mind from the books. I like your choice of Swinglifestyle ID, by the way. I am just of that age when Speed Racer was something new on TV. Speed and Trixie are the greatest. My youngest daughter has latched on. She organizes conventions for fans of Japanese manga and anime. ~Michael P.S. No offense intended for those of you who are tall, slim, sun-tanned, BMW-driving, jet setters. We like y'all too.

The two of you get to invite 5 people from any time in history to a dinner party. Who makes the final list? |

| We have never had a vegetable garden. We put in a small flower garden near the back porch of the house on the its west side. Happily, we decided on perennials as this garden receives very little attention. No green thumbs in this household. We do, like all Western-Pennsylvania suburbanites, maintain that popular monoculture -- a lawn.

Doctor David Reuben Doctor Ruth Sue Johanson, RN Sorry, the Kinseys were considered but fell just short of making the list. There is a science-fiction authors of some fame who lives near us. We learned that he and his wife had no invitation to anyone's home for Passover. So we invited them to our Passover dinner. I'm afraid that we and our other guests bored them nearly to death with conversation about professional sport and other trivial stuff. He and his wife did express their gratitude. But you could sort of tell they were accustomed to conversation on a different level.
