This week's Member of the Week is TNT. We are glad to have them in the spotlight this week.

Swingers Board interviews are a way for us to get to know each other better. It is a way to acknowledge just how wonderfully varied a community we are. Every Sunday, a new interview will start and the old interview will be locked. Be sure to stop in and get to know them better by asking them every nosey, intimate, personal question you can think of.

Try to ask only one question (or group of questions) per post, to make it easier for the interviewee to answer the questions, and also to allow for others to ask their questions.

Try to keep this thread about the person being interviewed. If you want to comment about things you discover you have in common or just elaborate on a response, pm them and make a new friend or start a new thread about it. This is intended to be a friendly thread, so please don’t ask anything in a purposeful attempt to get a heated debate. Of course, nobody is required to answer a question that they do not want to.

How did ya'll get together and how long has Ted had that long hair!!!

Gender (if not a couple): Couple

If a couple, which one primarily posts: Usually me (Teresa) as I have more time than Ted does but, he reads the board regularly and will put his two cents in once in a while.

Age(s): 43/41

Birthday(s): Ted- July 18, Teresa- December 2

Location: A very small town in Florida. We are located conveniently to some of the whitest beaches in the world, although we rarely go to the beach unless we have out of town guest who want to go.

Relationship status: Married.

Swinging for how long?: I suppose you could say full-time for the past eight years although, our very first MFM threesome was almost 25 years ago and a foursome a few years after that.

Prefer to swing with: Single males are our preference but we also enjoy couples and single females as well.

Biggest Pet Peeve: Ted: People who try and push their value system on me. Teresa: People who don't stop at the damn STOP sign on our road.

Brief Intro: Well, let's see...we've been married for over 26 years, have four children and two of the worlds most beautiful (and spoiled) grandchildren.

We were raised together as our parents were friends in school, got "TOGETHER" when Teresa was 12 and I was 14. I was raised in a fundamentalist Christian home and my hair was damn well short, 10 years in the Navy who encouraged short hair as well and I decided I would never cut my hair to suit anyone else again. Teresa likes it long and evidently some others do too.

Thank you I won't say how young we were when we married, I'll let everyone do their own math but...we were married over two years before our first child was born.

The trivia player would be Ted...his head is full of useless information...well, sometimes it is useful, like the time we were moving back from California with two small children and the alternator belt broke in the middle of nowhere. Ted took a pair of my pantyhose, wrapped it around the alternator and got us to a hotel for the night.

Oh, he said he hated you for playing every day (The Trivia game). He thinks you and Dynamar should take a couple of days off.

After those early experiences, what brought you back to swinging eight years ago?

Had you talked about it those nonswinging years in between, or was it a subject that just came up again out of the blue?

A few different reasons.

Our children became old enough we didn't have to pay a babysitter anymore to go out That, the internet and coming to a decision that we were no longer going to allow outside influences to play as big a role as they had been with our lives...basically we took US back.

Our previous experiences had been when we lived in California. At that time there were no outside influences (no family around us to make demands on our time) and pretty much lived like we wanted to.

When we moved back to our home town we became extremely busy with four small children, work and Ted and I both were extremely close to our grandparents all of whom were getting up in age and needed help and care and wanted no one else but us to help/care for them, as well as other family members wanting/needing our attention.

Trying to balance all those factors was very stressful on us and our marriage and we lost US for a while...luckily we both realized what was happening before it was to late, had a talk that lasted two days and made the decision that if there was going to be an US, then we had to take care of US and not everyone else. We started saying NO to family (except for our children and even they were told no once in a while) and YES to US (something that we had always done up to this point and lost somewhere in the hectic life we were living). That was about 15 years into our marriage.

From that time forward we started getting back to the things WE loved to do, swinging came up again and we started fantasizing again. We still didn't know it was something that people did on a regular basis as we thought we were just weird because we had fucked friends in the past. We fantasized, dreamed and wished for about three years while we tried to figure out how to make things a reality.

Then, we got a home computer and there was this thing called the internet. Ted brought home the URL for a website that a friend at work had given him as a joke. Ted had the reputation among his buddies as a horn-dog so anything sexually related that could be used as a joke was. The site was for a local swingers social. He was working a midnight shift at the time and I happened to have been off the day he brought it home, no kids in the house so he and I spent most of the day exploring swinger sites on the internet as the website we started at had numerous links to other sites. As it happened, there was going to be a social in two weeks. We made the decision to attend, sent in our RSVP and in two weeks were at the first social and haven't stopped since.

Sleep

Neither of us sleep well when he's gone so the first night he's home we sleep...we snuggle up in our normal sleeping position, give a sigh and sleep. It may seem strange but just having our naked bodies touching all night seems to reconnect us. There's comfort in touch and we both become touch deprived when he's gone.

We usually spend all of the next day in bed watching TV, clicking around on the computer, napping and just being. By the time the afternoon comes around we'll finally get up, get dressed, fix a pot of coffee and sit outside on the porch swing and swing and talk. For some reason a cup of coffee and the porch swing makes everything alright with our world.

By the time night fall comes, we're both rejuvenated and ready for playtime.

It sounds like Ted travels a lot for work. How do you stay connected or maintain "US" while he's away so that when he returns, it doesn't always feel like getting reacquainted?

We talk every night on the phone, sometimes watching TV with each other over the phone (good thing he has a lot of minutes on his cell or we'd be broke). He'll also call sometimes during the day, depending on how busy he is. If he's just doing testing and having to wait during test runs, he always calls to pass the time. We also chat on the computer and I send e-mails/text messages to his phone.

It is difficult keeping a connection at times but, we've never really had what would be considered a normal life (9-5 jobs with both of us being home every night) so we've learned to adjust, deal and make the most of the time we do have together. We're very protective of "our" time and when he is home, we're rarely out of each other's sight.

Don't worry, I'm sure I'll miss one before long!
Actually, I hate it that Ted has missed two, because if he hadn't, I think it would be a really tight 3 way race right now.

We started saying NO to family (except for our children and even they were told no once in a while) and YES to US (something that we had always done up to this point and lost somewhere in the hectic life we were living).

Just throwing this quote up because it was a great move, great advice, and I think everyone needs to be reminded to do this from time to time.


You mentioned that Ted enjoys antique car forums. Do you guys currently have an antique car?


BTW, we vacationed down your way last year just down the road from Destin. The beaches are beautiful!

I'm not real sure how long I've been on LJ...a few years. As to the changes...what changes? I usually never read the news updates on there or pay attention to any changes. All I really care about is reading my friends blogs and posting my own.

And for the LKH Blog: Do you read it to enjoy or to mock it?
and do you think her books show sexuality in positive way? ( I myself have problems with how Anita acts in her polyarmory)

To enjoy I LOVE LKH's writing and reading her blog allows me to get a few tidbits on what might/might not be happening in the next book. I personally think she writes sex very well.

As to Anita...yeah, she really needs to just get over it. She has all these beautiful men who would do anything for/to/with her, she should just relax and enjoy them. Myself, I identify with Merry much more...she's a woman who really enjoys her men and sex
