I worried about not being any "good" at sex. I'd only been with one man before Chris, and we met in college. So what did I know about pleasing another man? Just because Chris was happy with me didn't mean anything . . .

I learned pretty quickly that everybody brings something different to the party--not necessarily better, but different. I also learned how to hone my particular "skill set".

I was 15, and had just come home from band practice. I hadn't been home all day, so I didn't have the opportunity to get my chores done. My father (who was later diagnosed as bipolar) came home shortly afterward. After seeing the kitchen in disarray, he lost it. He cursed me and my ten-year-old sister out and threatened to beat us. This was nothing new, though he hadn't laid a hand on us in years. We continued to clean up, but that wasn't enough for him that night.

He went to his bedroom, and came back with one of his handguns, and pointed it at us, telling us he was going to kill us, "worthless bastards". I shoved my sister down behind the counter, and stared him down. I told him if he hated me that damn much he should go ahead and kill me.

He put the safety back on the gun and hung his head. My mom got it away from him, and that was that. From that moment on, I was no longer afraid of my father (or anyone else, really). There was nothing he could do to intimidate me or scare me any longer. NOTHING.

I no longer needed nor cared whether my father approved of anything I did--which was huge, because I never seemed to be able to please him.

Not exactly the same kind of wall you broke through, LM, but it's what came to mind when I read your post. I felt so FREE, no longer waiting for an approval from my father that would never come. I learned to do things that would make me proud of myself.

Hope I haven't scared ya'll off with this one. I know it's pretty heavy stuff.

I used to be really into scrapbooking, but that kinda' fell by the wayside after I spent 6 months and untold amounts of money to make a 10th anniversary album for Chris. After that, catching up on the kids' albums just seemed like . . . work. And right about the time I had the time/energy/desire to roll up my sleeves and give it another go, I discovered this board and Yahoo Instant Messenger. Oh well, the kids don't need to know what they looked like after age 5!

I DO take a lot of pictures, though. I'm not the greatest photographer, but once in awhile I get lucky and get a really good shot. And before anyone asks, I much prefer to remain BEHIND the camera (though I will make good on my promise to post that pic of me in the SB shirt when it arrives).

Both of us are avid readers, we love movies (especially comedies), and playing card/board games.

And I love to throw parties. Besides the kids' birthdays, we typically host three parties a year: a summer party (which always seems to coincide with Chris's birthday); a Halloween party; and a kickass Superbowl Bash. The tee shirts we give away there have become quite the collector's item. We haven't tried hosting any lifestyle-related parties yet, though. However, I'm working with a fellow board member on hosting a Pocono Meet Up this summer (insert Shameless Plug here!).

I'll let Chris tell ya'll about his non-swingin' related hobbies himself.

Hobbies...do I really have any spare time....I think my hobby is driving to work!!

Actually I like to get out and play golf as much as I can (which isn't a lot) and just enjoy being outside. I also have a certain hobby called Football Season which lasts 364 days according to the wife. I also like the chance to read a good book occasionally (usually sci-fi).

Other than that, all my time seems to be caught up with the crazy kiddos or trying to satisfy the wife's lustful urges....It's a HARD life, but I try to manage!!!

Well, that's fairly easy for me. The toughest thing for me is getting over my Homer Simpson physique. I've lost a bunch of weight recently, but I still have more to go (as you can see I am still conscious of this one). However, I have found myself naked in situations I would not normally have seen myself in before and most of the folks we've played with haven't run screaming (well at least not screaming in a bad way)

So, I guess it was just a matter of getting over myself and just finding a way to relax and not worry about it because after all, our friends wouldn't be friends (especially swing friends) if that was that "big" of an issue.

So nothing too crazy, unlike he wife's multiple personality disorder and sex addiction that she's getting over.

Well, I brought up that fantasy (big surprise), but it really didn't go as far as I would have liked.

As the wife has stated, we got hung up on the "who" would be the third person along with the fact that she didn't really have the desire at that point for the girl-girl thing.

We tossed it around a few times but it just never gained momentum till we started to swing. Now we've been in a MFMF where there was some FMF (which was great), but we have yet to hook up with a unicorn.

(Just not as juicy a response as you see in Penthouse Forum....Sorry)
