| Doing it our way... | If we are talking generally, I like a lot of different types of music. Even if I'm not into a particular genre, there are a couple artists or a few songs I really like. If we are talking about that other kind of excitement, I like classical, actually or a decent mix of R & B. Well, I guess a lot of stuff would work, since I don't mind Nine Inch Nails or Timbaland, etc. I can safely say that elevator like music is nothing but a distraction. I am kind of strange that I think life needs a soundtrack. I listen to music all day long. I can't even walk to my car after work without an iPod. I've assigned theme songs to my good friends. Music is necessary to me, and I can make do with most music. Quote:
We married, and opened an AOL account, and tried to used RPU since it was easy for me to remember. There were obviously 2 others before us, hence, we've had RPU3 in our internet lives since then.

| Let's get comfortable... Join Date: Jan 2004 Posts: 8,355 Location: On the couch Status: Married to Mr LM | This is one of the most interesting interviews I've read. You mentioned that you have numerous pet peeves. I have one that I wonder if you share. How do you feel about people who stop for a light in a long line with others on a busy street and they leave you room to pull out into traffic so you can turn into the opposite lane where you can't see who is coming? Do you trust their judgment and go through? I don't, hell if I'm going to place my life in their hands and get myself plastered by a driver they didn't see coming...nor can I see because of all the stopped traffic blocking my view. I prefer to wait 30 seconds for the light to change, traffic starts moving, I have full view, and I will judge when to pull into traffic. Whew, I must have needed to get that off my chest! What would you like to get off your chest today? You name it, a peeve of your choice. LM |

If it takes me a year to develop any sort of trust in people I actually like, I'm sure not going to blindly place my life in the hand(s) of some bad driver(s)! Actually, this happens all the time (at least 3 times a week) when I turn from the main drag onto my street. Quote:
And he wonders why I have to be in bed by 10, I am always tired, and I get mad if he turns on the tv when he comes up at midnight. Men.

How many hats do you have? BTW-I too have enjoyed your posts. I like how you are direct and to the point.

| Celebrate perversity | In your intro you mentioned that you have an obsession with travel, among other things. Welcome to the travel club. We travel because we must! Of the places you've traveled to already, which is your favorite? Or do you have different favorites for different reasons? And for future travel destinations, what would be your ideal destination/itinerary? Please tell us what would be the one dream vacation that would be within reason -- something you could possibly arrange and afford and which might conceivably come to pass...and then tell us your ultimate fantasy vacation if money and time were no issue. Finally, are you a member of the Mile-High Club? Or do you and the spousal unit have any stories of your sexual exploits in exotic locales? (Just curious. My Penthouse subscription lapsed. )Thanks! And great answers so far, btw. Thrax /I'm a Farker, too //with a few Photoshop second and third places, but no wins ///no greenlighted headlines either *waves to Farkers two4youinswva and to some prime suspects living somewhat east of the Burgh...you know who you are* ![]()

Hello! Thank goodness it's Friday! Well, I think we rarely get to do what we like to do on the weekend. The Spousal Unit teaches at both our local university and community college, so most weekends are spent grading. We have a part time child in the form of a nephew, who is usually at boarding school. We usually have him home for breaks and long weekends so we lose a few more weekends a year. No biggie on that front, though. On light grading weekends, we like to see friends in or out of town or host dinner or karaoke parties (yes, we like karaoke). We try to spend time working on our house, since it has been a work in progress for a long time. Occasionally, we'll go to our local club. We occasionally travel for a fun long weekend. If I'm on my own due to his grading, I see my friends for roller blading, tennis or book club, work on my volunteer stuff or figure skating or go out of town on my own to see friends. Or organize stuff in the house. I occasionally think cleaning the basement is fun! Or I hang out here incessantly. ![]()

| Doing it our way... | Well, I'm about ready for bed, so I'll start with the quick and dirty and answer the rest in the morning. Nope, I am not a member of the Mile-High Club, or even a member of the Mile-High Hand Job Club. Not that I haven't tried. I figured that's what blankets and picking the two seats by themselves in the roomier Economy Plus section were for, but the Spousal Unit didn't bite. ![]()

Anything I consider a favorite so far would be in Europe. I guess, to date, France (especially Paris) and what little we saw sailing a bit in Greece would the absolute favorites. If I could speak French and had work, I could easily live in Paris. But it's hard to not put Amsterdam, Luxembourg, Bruges/Brugge on the list of favorites either. All are different and have a different appeal and vibe. The Spousal Unit is chiming in that his is Amsterdam. His answer would be of no surprise to anyone who knows him. He just wishes we could move Amsterdam to a warm beach locale and his life would be perfect. But this is my interview, not his. ![]() Quote:

However, I've been trying to do this for 3 years, and it's not going to happen this year. Maybe not next year either, since we've promised the Nephew Unit a Europe trip if he manages to graduate and it looks like he'll not only graduate, but perhaps actually manage to go to college, so we will be doing France and Benelux. Maybe 2010 will finally be my year. Quote:
I think, however, in a perfect world, I'd do a six-month sailboat trip through the Mediterranean, the Adriatic, the Ionian and the Aegean seas. I'd pick up our boat in Spain and cruise the Balearic islands. I'd then like to head up towards the French Riviera and around to the west shore of Italy heading south to Palermo. It's a bit out of the way, but with six months, we could feasibly hit Croatia and see a bit of the Serbian coast on the way to Greece. Greece needs a lot of time. There is much to see there, as well as some of Turkey. I'd then fly home from Athens or Istanbul. With six months, I could rent an apartment by the harbor for a few days if we are staying for a week or so in a locale to just get off the boat, clean the boat, do laundry and provision again. We could sail alone, but it is far easier and more entertaining with help, so in a perfect world, we'd have friend or friends that we could deal with for 6 months (and who could deal with us). And a big boat! Luckily, there would be a lot of time to be able to get time away from others (I like my quiet down time without anyone around - not even the spouse). Alternatively, we'd have friends and family meet us at various locations to help crew yet provide some variety in visitors. They'd be leaving about the time I'm sick of seeing them. Anyway, my dream trip would provide variety of locations, cuisines, yet a lot of sun and water and warmth and excitement yet have some chill time. In my perfect world, of course. Quote:

My most exciting exploitwould likely be trying to have sex in a hot tub right here in Ohio. Not quite what most have in mind as to exploits in exotic locales. Sorry. Quote:

So, there are more Farkers out there, eh?
