This week's Member of the Week is WesternSwing. We are glad to have them in the spotlight this week.

Swingers Board interviews are a way for us to get to know each other better. It is a way to acknowledge just how wonderfully varied a community we are. Every Wednesday, a new interview will start and the old interview will be locked. Be sure to stop in and get to know them better by asking them every nosey, intimate, personal question you can think of.

Every SwingersBoard member is allowed to ask the amount of questions specified by the interviewee in the answers to the default questions. If they discover that they chose too high or low a limit, they may change their choice.

Try to keep this thread about the person being interviewed. If you want to comment about things you discover you have in common or just elaborate on a response, pm them and make a new friend or start a new thread about it. This is intended to be a friendly thread, so please don’t ask anything in a purposeful attempt to get a heated debate. Of course, nobody is required to answer a question that they do not want to.

Location: Salt Lake City, UT
Relationship status: Married for five years, together almost eight now.
Swinging for how long?: Almost two years.
Prefer to swing with: Couples, but we've had MFM and FMF before, too.
Biggest Pet Peeve: Mrs. WS = hypocrisy and Mr. WS = hypocrisy and intolerance.
Brief Intro: Mrs. WS and I met in January of 1998. I was just months out of a divorce from my first wife who I'd been married to for eleven years and Mrs. WS as months out of a long term relationship.

As mentioned above, we have been together almost eight years and married five of them. We have both had our "near misses" with affairs, both were because we weren't there for each other when we were needed. We realized this and because of it was able to work through it and we became even closer. I think that test of our relationship opened up a dialog and communication that helped when we started talking about swinging.

We both have daughters from our previous marriages and one together now.

Well, that's us in even a smaller nutshell then before.

Alright, I know I asked this before so I won't reask all of it. Just part.

Are you both originally from Utah? IF not, where from?
Were either of you raised Mormon? If so, did that cause any guilt issues when swinging was brought up?

Mr. was born and raised in Utah, Mrs. was born in Utah and raised in Utah, Idaho, and Oregon.

Neither of us was raised Mormon, although our step-fathers were both inactive Mormon. Mrs. WS was raised fire-and-brimstone Southern Baptist by a zealot mother and Mr. was raised Greek Orthodox. Both of us are now practicing Wiccans.

Mr. was raised in a very sexually open family to begin with, so there have been no guilt issues for him. However, Mrs. had allot of guilt about sex in general before we ever started swinging. Her mother taught her that sex was dirty, her genitals were dirty, and so were bodily fluids. This took some time to get over, but she has. Wicca has helped immensely since in Wicca sex is believed to be a joyful experience that is a gift. Also, the Wiccan Rede is:

An it harm none, do as ye will.

Wicca is very accepting of the lifestyle in that as long as you are not harming or manipulating anyone (including yourself) you can do as you feel is right for you. This is something we take very seriously since we believe every action has a threefold reaction. All good that a person does to another returns three fold in this life; harm is also returned three fold.

So guilt has not been an issue with swinging, but it was before. It was overcoming this guilt that has allowed us to. But, there have been left-over traces that swinging has squashed too.

Mrs. brushes her teeth hard and fast, Mr. brushes his soft and slow.

What makes your marriage strong?

Our belief in each other. Honesty. Communication. Trust.

What are your fantasies?

Mr. fantasizes about all motorcycles Italian. Mrs. wants a bunch of adoring men to clean her house.

Dream Car?

Mrs. doesn't really have a dream car. Mr.'s all are two wheeled.

Who brought up swinging? and what was the others reaction to it?

We both kind of brought it up. It started with discussions about if the neighbors would have sex with us. From there it developed into "what-if" pillow talk and then it blossomed at a Mardi Gras party.

First Swing experience?

In a casino hotel in Wendover, UT. We rented a suite with a hot tub for Mrs. birthday and went out with the couple that we met at the Mardi Gras party.

Worst swing experience?

A single guy. Things seemed really good all evening, but when it came time to play he just layed back like Mrs. WS was supposed to service him. He made no effort to play with her at all. We ended it before it got any further than some foreplay.

Scariest swing experience?

Our first meeting of a couple - not the couple we met at the Mardi Gras party. We were in their bathroom changing into some bath robes to go get in the hot tub with them when we could hear them arguing in the bedroom next door. Then they came out like nothing was wrong. In the hot tub it was evident she was pissed at him and now didn't want to swing that night and he was still switched-on. We said we were tired and got the hell out of there.

funniest swing experience?

A couple of weeks ago at a Halloween party. There was a teepee/tent set-up in the backyard for play. We took advantage of it with another couple and when Mr. came rather loudly all the other party goers outside started howling like wolves.

Sexiest swing experience?

One time with a single guy we are still friends with. Everything just clicked between all three of us and it was incredible. Mrs. must have cum 20 times that night.

As an old biker freak myself, Western Swing, I can understand. I've only had a few Italian bikes, a Moto Guzzi, which was a great tourer, a Laverda, a Benilli 500 and a Benelli 250 two-stroke road bike that could top 100 MPH! Unfortunately, it consumed gas like an SUV. On the autobahn, I had to stop about every sixty miles to fill it up. Great handler and loads of fun on the back roads in Germany.

Do you ride an Italian bike now? What make and model?

On a different note, does your user name have anything to do with cowboy dancing? Does the name Bob Wills mean anything to y'all young'uns?

What advice do you have for someone who is working on overcoming the guilt of a religious upbringing in regards to sex in general (and swinging in specific)?

I too had this same problem. I finally just got the mind set that Go wanted me to be happy and enjoy myself and his fruits. I took this stand and now have no regrets. Hope this helps.

Actually, right now I ride a Japanese sportbike, a VTR1000 Superhawk. I would love some Italian sporting hardware, but older age is catching-up with me. I ride both for commuting and for recreation and a Ducati 999-series is just too commited a sporting piece for everyday use. A Multistrada is too... I don't know, not sporting enough? I would love an MV Agusta F4 Tamburini, but don't have $40K to drop on one. So in the meantime I'll stick to affordable, fast, Japanese hardware while dreaming Italian. LOL

Laverdas, Triumphs, Benellis... You speak my language.

My next bike? Probabaly a Hayabusa (since it finished 2nd in Cycle Worlds Sport Touring shootout) or the new Kawasaki ZX-14. Maybe a Beemer or a new Triumph Sprint ST... We'll see.

We got our name from being in the west, and well... swinging. Actually, I'm a very poor dancer much less western swing dancing. LOL However, Don Vesco was a friend prior to his passing a couple of years ago. If that means anything to the motorcycle folk.
