This week's Member of the Week is lovedoctor. We are glad to have her in the spotlight this week.

Swingers Board interviews are a way for us to get to know each other better. It is a way to acknowledge just how wonderfully varied a community we are. Every Wednesday, a new interview will start and the old interview will be locked. Be sure to stop in and get to know them better by asking them every nosey, intimate, personal question you can think of.

Location: On the couch. No really, we live in the Tampa area.
Relationship status: married for 28 years (to each other)
Swinging for how long?: really, we are just starting out. I would say since
April of this year, but we have been talking about it for longer.
Prefer to swing with: human beings.
Biggest Pet Peeve: Frivilous lawsuits and people who park too close to my car. A close third would be spelling errors on the internet. Oh, and I hate world hunger too.
Brief Intro: We are a professional couple in our mid forties. A little bit overweight, but very physically active and fun to be around; Mr LD plays raquetball and I do yoga, work out with a trainer a couple of times a week and am working on getting fit. We LOVE (Live) to sail and we have an old Tartan 26 that we are restoring. We live in a great small town, both of us enjoy our jobs and our lives; the only thing missing is expendable cash, but who has enough of that?! We have a grown daughter and 3 dogs!

1) At what age did you start having sexual fantasies?

-Um, probably about age 15. It had to do with Don Henley and a certain band from LA. I could have SOOOOO been a groupie!

2) At what age did you actualize one of those fantasies?

Well, I did meet Don backstage last year. I told him that starting at age 15, in the mid 70's, one of my biggest fantasies was running away from home to go on the road with the band. But my mom wouldn't let me. He laughed at me and said "When you were 15, it probably would have happened if we would have met then. Neither one of us is most likely up to it at this point in our lives!" Wooo! What a hoot. I just thought that was a sexy and sweet thing to say to a middle aged woman's fantasies. Of course I didn't actualize the fantasy, but I DID get to address it! LOL

3) Could you please share this moment in your life?

-As above. I did write one of those infamous short stories about going out on the road with the band. Got 90 pages done and the brat that was typing it never gave it back. Then of course, "Almost Famous" came out, so I don't need to write the book! That movie was my youth that "could have been" had Mr. LD and I not met, fell crazy in love and gotten married 3 weeks out of high school

That manuscript is long gone - but I can tell you that the theme song to the screenplay would have been "Chevy Van." I have theme songs for every event in my life, and thank God, the 70's are over - although I do call on the music of the times on many occasions!

I had sex with 1 & 1/2 guys before I met Mr. LD. I was 15 and in LOVE with my first boyfriend and we spent an absolutely splendid summer and early fall locked in his friend's bedroom. I even had my pair of "lucky underwear" when I knew we were going to do the nasty! But I had NO clue what I was doing or how to enjoy sex. Not until Mr. LD.

The 1/2 boy was just an almost, oops - I was out on a date with the guy, we got a little loaded, I said "yes," then thought "crap what am I doing, I don't even like him!" after we started, so I made him stop. Very mean, and I'm probably lucky he didn't force me - he was a tough kid, but he was very gentlemanly. Altho he never spoke to me again after taking me home that night!

And I love your "On the Couch" location, since that's where I am with my laptop now, and I was then too! But not with a Corona. I am not a beer girl. I prefer margaritas, appletinis, or white russians made with Stoley Vanilla Vodka. Or just your basic Diet Rite or Code Red Diet Mtn Dew - depending on the time of day.

People just love to talk about themselves, don't they?

Our T26 is a 1972.

Just can't beat all that wonderful teak. We took it down to nothing and rebuilt it. Electrical, plumbing, engine, brightwork, cushions, hardware, top/bottom. It is pretty cherry now - well - as it CAN be for a boat that age. We love it.

Eventually we will need something with a full keel for our round the world sail, this is too small and has a fin keel. But it's great for the bay and the occasional trips out into the gulf. Weather willing.

Absolutely! It IS always better on the water! (Except if there are 20 ft seas - I hate to be that color of green; it kinda takes the mood away!)

We are on the wet coast and sail out of Marinadel Rey (Los Angeles). It sounds like you've done a lot of work, too. Our next job is installing a windless and then a watermaker for our trip to Mexico.

Full keel are nice, but there really isn't anything wrong with fin keels, they are faster and as long as the bolts are in good shape (they usually are). Protection of the rudder is what I would look for. We had a Catalina 27 (74) and I loved that boat, but moved up to a 34 for the trip. I was able to sell it to a friend so I get to see her all the time. I don't think you ever really sell your boat, you just let someone else take care of her.

Our boat was given to us by a friend a few years ago - she just couldn't take care of it any more. She got to see it last weekend for the first time and she cried. So, yes - we are just taking care of it for her!
