Who's your daddy?

What do you and the Mrs. do on a typical weekend night? We have been spending a lot of time and money on the house, so we tend to stay in a lot. However, we do partake in good food, lots of movies, and sweet lovin'. Of course, if we met another couple, plans could change...

What's your favorite thing to do on a rainy day? I love to watch the rain. I'll head onto the porch and sit and watch it come down. It's also very romantic...

Do you have any pets? If so, what are their names? We have a purebred female schnauzer named Frances, a male beta named Fishy, and a turtle named Milkshake. We had a cat named Angel, but he ran away 3 months ago.

Speaking of pets! Do you have any children? We have one - a 10-year-old girl. Originally my wife's, I adopted her two years ago. She is so much fun. We are very fortunate to have a child like her...most of the time... Surrender

What makes Mrs. Funk smile? Fresh flowers "just because", Chinese food (that's her craving lately), a flirty look or compliment from another man or woman, and kisses in that sensitive spot on her back. <EG>

I guess what I really meant was what is your favorite starting hand (i.e. your two hole cards before the flop) to play, and why? I will generally play conservatively, which means fewer large pots but longer time at the table. Pairs are nice, as are two face cards, suited or unsuited. It also depends on what mental notes I've taken on the people I play with. Depending on the other players, I have been known to take it to the house with two crappy cards.

I grew up with a schnauzer named Fritz. He was my best friend and would always eat my vegetables for me when my mother wasn't looking. He also looked very cute in my tutus with barrettes in his whiskers.

Dennis Miller or Bill Maher? Bill Maher. I still like Dennis, but he pandered too much on Monday Night Football. Don't flip-flop - if something sucks, tell it like it is.

"Fast Times at Ridgemont High" or "Dazed and Confused"? "Fast Times"...I always wanted to order a pizza during class. A classic film.

The Beatles or The Rolling Stones? (Or the Velvet Underground if you like!) Velvet Underground for me, Rolling Stones for the Mrs. She can't get enough of them! I appreciate the Beatles, though. They changed the rock landscape.

Polka very much? Having a lot of cousins (100+ at last count ), I have attended a ton of weddings. Knowing how to polka is like a prerequisite here. Nowadays, I just do it to embarrass the Mrs.

Well, you had me at "hello"...or "papi"...or anything else you ever typed.

We love our dog. She's so human-like. It's fun to goof around with her. She gets so excited whenever one of us comes home. She lays down on her back so we scratch her stomach. Too cute.

If you could go back in time, where could we find you? You would find me at some speakeasy in my crisp pinstripe suit having a drink and dancing with the flappers to the latest jazz. Of course, you'd find me like that these days, too.

If you could meet one person, dead or alive- who would it be & why? Jesus would be my first choice, but I would also like to meet Bruce Lee. He was so talented, balanced and disciplined. I would try to tap into his wisdom and find out how to approach his levels of inner peace and self-confidence. Handling stress is a major weak point for me.

You mentioned good food. My husband and I love to cook and go out to eat. Describe your favorite meal to me. I love to cook as well. I'm not very artistic, but that's a creative outlet for me. Anyway, I would start with a fresh salad and some freshly baked bread, then get into a pasta dish, preferably something with seafood and an alfredo sauce. Wine to match the entree. Then top it off with a fine cigar, some scotch, maybe a little coffee, and some sort of chocolate dessert while reclining in front of a roaring fire. I'm stuffed just thinking about it!

Is there a song that you and the Mrs. think of as "Your Song"? What is it? We chose "Angel" by Sarah McLachlan as our song for our wedding. It was such a special moment for us, and we talk about it to this day. Other than that, we each have our own favorites to ourselves.

Oh! I forgot to ask- What makes YOU happy? Hmmm...I'm a simple guy. Don't need much. I guess if I make someone happy or help someone out, that makes me smile. It's also nice to know if someone thinks you're a good person, or even attractive. A healthy self-esteem boost never hurts, eh?

Stick a fork in me - I'm done. Hopefully grilled just right.

What advice would you give newbies? Be patient. You shouldn't ever settle - get what you really want out of this lifestyle. Enjoy it - your match is out there, so don't give up hope or "take one for the team". Also, communicate. Can't stress that enough. Talk early and often - it can mean the difference between a night of sheer horror and sheer pleasure.

Anything else that you would like to share with us that we haven't asked? The only thing to say is I hope I haven't bored people to tears. I know I can't compete with some of the threads out there (like Spoo's insult thread in the Cafe), but I hope I made you smile at least once.

Finally - Have you had fun this week???? Lots. You people have been very good to me. I actually expected my chops to be busted a little more. A bunch of pantywaists, you are!

They look decent on me, and they're very comfy. They would be Airwalks, but I couldn't find any in my size. I wonder what that says about me...

Do you like to play with bi-sexual brunettes (from Florida) that have handsome husbands? Yes, but ONLY if they are into tall skinny guys with sandy blond hair (from Wisconsin) who have hot bi-sexual wives. I'm picky like that.
