Give us a Brief Intro:Me in a nut shell.. I am 30 and married for almost 14 years. I have 3 children ( 7,6,5) who really do think they run the house. My husband is a disabled veteran and I love him with all my heart and respect the devil out of him. I am liberal in my political veiws. I am pagan in my religious views. I miss the beach something fierce and have decided that it is true.. the reason texas doesnt fall into the gulf of mexico is because oklahoma sux. Today, I am feeling rather blah and I just want to curl up in bed and snooze.

What brought y'all to Oklahoma? Where did y'all live before?

I've always hated that joke, but I have to agree that Lawton is not the part of Oklahoma that the Sooners are most proud of. Still, the Wichita Mountains west of there and the resident wildlife are beautiful and worth seeing. But don't judge the entire state by Lawton. Have y'all visited Northeastern Oklahoma, particularly Tulsa?

I wish we could talk politics because I have a feeling we'd agree on most issues but, for good reason, political discussions are not allowed on this board. Come visit us at Brad's Place. Just find a post by Brad and Janet. There will be a link there.

We're glad to have you with us and look forward to learning a lot more about y'all through your MOTW interview. Maybe someday we'll shake hands at a Meet Up!

Please convey my personal thanks to your husband for his service and my sorrow for his injuries. Was he injured in Iraq or Afghanistan?

We were stationed here for about 6 years before my husband got out of the army. After going to UNC ( NC) to finish school, he decided that he wanted to come back here. Home was no longer home to him. So, here we are. We have passed through the tulsa area a few times on our way to Mo. We do like that area better than right here. But, you have to start somwhere.

As far as the political stuff, no worries on my part.. I'll troll over that way shortly. I love a good discussion

My husband was injured in the first gulf war and continued to serve until 2001. His back was broken in 3 places and he suffered several hemmorages on his brain. However, none of that was treated until after he got out in 2001. Now, we have learned the extent of what happened to him and are going from there. We take everyday and live it the best we can. He isnt wheelchair bound yet and is very much full of life. It just breaks my heart when he has his bad days though. Thank you for your kind words

My hubby did. it actually began as a heated discussion at my parents house over the correct definition of polyamoury. the swing part worked itself out by the next day. We really have never been the classic mono couple, even when we were dating.

funny story.. hmm there was the time one of his old gf that we had a 3 some with the weekend before showed up at church. She stood in the parking lot and let everyone know exactly what we did AND the deninsions of my hubby's penis. I found it to be rather funny.. he on the other hand didnt.. i know now what makes the red man red

So...aside from other people at church, who knows about your lifestyle? Based on the discussion at your parent's house, do they know as well? What's been the reactions of those who've found out?

well, both sides of the family know. that came from our poly discussion. we do not attend any formal church now, that incident happened about 12 years ago in a different state. we dont flaunt our lifestyle but dontlie about it either

I did work and go to school full time as well as do the mommy wife thing for several years. I had to prioritize what I wanted in life. It took awhile for me to understand that I am not super woman nor is it admiting defeat not to be. I took a year off from school to handle my medical needs and to focus on what I wanted out of life. I went back to work and quit again in the same month ( jan 05) after the comapny I was working for was being investigated for fraud of the fed govmt. During that short month while I was back at work, I realized not only was I not making enough money to make it worth my while ( specialized day care for my special needs child, reg after school care ect ect) I was really not happy with what all was going on. I have learned that I would rather have a messy house and have memories of my kids learning to fly a kite or my oldest daughter catching her first fish than have a spotless house and no real happiness to show for it. I have a disabled daughter and husband who do take up quite a bit of my time.. but I also have 2 children who need just as much time if not more. So, its that delicate balance of trying to be a good parent and good wife but still staying sane. Although today is an offical insane day since both of the school age kids have been suspended for the day from school. Sometimes teaching your children to be independant thinkers and standing up for thier beliefs can backfire I still think that I would not change a thing.. although if anyone knows the cure for sassy mouth.. please pass that info this way otherwise I ahve a feeling that I am going to resort to an old fashioned switch before lunch

Hello, this is Steve here (GoodBiGirls guy ) Amy's religious views also are pagan (Wiccan) and I was wondering: in your experience do you find that most people in the lifestyle have "alternative" beliefs? I used to be stationed in Ft. Sill and we used to say that the reason all the trees it Texas lean to the south is because Oklahoma blows......but really, Oklahoma is OK!

lol i have said that this week too. I have been feeling really isolated here since I havent been able to get out and do like I used to. All that will pass. As my 7 yr old said today, we all have our issues!.. from the mouths of babes

as far as the religious aspect, the majority of the people that I have met in both the swing and poly lifestyles have had either alternative religious veiws or very liberal ones. I think that is because those who do follow main stream religions would never openly come to the swing or poly lifestyle. its too out in the open. it doenst follow their tennents. its hard to prosletize and convert someone when your mouth is full All joking aside, thats my personal obsevations. I find that more moderate to main stream religious people tend to follow the "cheating" side of things.. the sneaking around, the lying ect ect. I think that if more people where open and honest about things, the adultery rate in divorce would be cut more than half. Of course, since i belive in poly lifestyle, that is a whole new can of worms

First of all, we just wanted to tell you that we absolutely LOVE your sense of humor. We'll sometimes peek at a thread that is of absolutely no interest to us just because we notice that you've posted to it, and we want to read what you've written. To have such lighthearted (albeit slightly perverse) outlook on life, especially in view of all the difficulties and hardships you've already had to endure, is unbelievably admirable. You must be a very strong person deep down inside.

Two questions...

1) Did you always have your great sense of humor, or did you develop it later in life, perhaps as a coping mechanism to deal with some of the difficulties you've had to endure?

2) We understand "Bi" and we understand "Chick", but why in the world did your parents give you the middle name of "Drywall"???

I would have to say that it has developed and evolved over time and what I have gone through in life. I had to learn that it ok to be myself and then find what made me confortable. I will admit that I tend to be perverse and sarcastic all at the same time, but thats just me.. raw and as I am any other day. My mother told me this morning ( in the middle of my melt down over laundry) that she never pictured me being married, a soccer mom, room mom, wife ect ect.. Believe it or not.. neither did I.. esspecially after being married once before. I think my sense of humore lets people see the real me. I often wonder if I need to use more tact or if people even understand what I am trying to say. I figure if they don't or I offend someone, they will either say something or not. I cant fix everything.. I can just be me.

2) We understand "Bi" and we understand "Chick", but why in the world did your parents give you the middle name of "Drywall"???

lol drywall comes from my main type of work I do. I have been hanging and finishing drywall for about 14 years. I started doing it with my current husband, then when he was hurt I started taking on the jobs myself. Drywall is another name for sheetrock. It is what your walls and ceilings are normally made from in most residential houses. Any time someone would come on the job site and ask for the foreman, my crew would say " Oh, You want the Drywall chick ( or bitch depending on how close to payday we were)" the name just sorta stuck. You will also notice that a few people call me " Mud Puppy". That is another term of endearment for people who finish sheet rock. Generally is used for guys who are just learning hose to do the work. However, I like it because it adds a more femine side to an otherwise hard masculine labor type of job
