I gotta know, where does your screenname/the spelling come from? When I was putting up the MOTW stuff I had to copy and paste, because I knew there was no way I was going to spell your name right from memory.

Hi...Thanks for the warm welcomes I've received from everyone since I joined!

First...my name has gone through several variations using the word "Empyrean". I always liked the song "Mysterious Ways" by U2 because of the one line "If you want to kiss the sky you got to learn how to kneel" SO back in my aol days, I was looking for a synonym for the word "Sky" and came up with "Empyrean" which means "ultimate heavenly paradise" and liked it instantly. Since then I've also done Empyrean Dream, and now Empyrean Pleasure which goes with our Hedo website we call "Empyrean Pleasures"

Give us a Brief Intro:

: I was just getting into the lifestyle when I met Jim online. He frequently contacted women with “straight” ads and he found my “vanilla” one and wrote me! We hit it off instantly and were engaged within a few weeks!

Prior to meeting Jim, I was part of a triad with another couple, had had some group encounters with them and others, but that was it. Jim introduced me to swing clubs and parties. We decided to start with the basics and explore the lifestyle together all over again as a new couple.

We are raising two teen boys of mine from my previous marriage and one teen foster son, but we get plenty of time to ourselves when they visit their dad. We also love to travel and attend lifestyle conventions and Hedonism resorts frequently, in addition to the regular family trips we fit in each year.

We work together in Jim’s accounting business and right now I’m a tax return widow! April 15th can’t come soon enough!

I was an RN for 20 years, but have basically retired for now.

Seriously, and I know that this was more or less covered in a recent thread, but can you expand some more about being "out" in the lifestyle? How this has effected your vanilla life, Jim's business, etc.?

Well, we are only partially out, though we realize our actions can change that at some point -albeit unintentionally, but we do realize that.

We have an accounting business - mostly regular vanilla clients. However, Jim has always had a knack for working with people of alternative lifestyles (not that they KNEW his own involvement) so they felt comfortable with him.

A couple of years ago we decided to try to corner a new market and now advertise ourselves as Lifestyle Financial Services. Our vanilla clients don't understand the significance of that name, but those in the LF do. We have clients who make toys, run clubs, or are just gay and have "partner" issues to deal with. I'm hoping to get a big slut clothing client soon!

We have always been out within the community. We've been interviewed in Connection Magazine, participated in an informational video called "Happy Swinging" and were interviewd on WCKG radio during a convention two years ago.

My EX HUSBAND apparently follows that radio station closely and they posted a pic of us on their website which he emailed a link to me! Fortunately he already knew about our lifestyle. I had told him all about it when Jim and I became engaged. Funny conversation...I'm engaged, I'm bi and I'm a swinger! The engagement part kind of flew over his head after the shock of the other two announcements!

Our kids know we are VERY open minded and the oldest knows about our lifestyle business. He never put it together until he overheard us talking about a client's club...he tought it was a strip club but I corrected him it was a swingers club. He had an odd look on his face so I told him..."Dont you realize why we changed the business name to 'Lifestyle Finanacial Services'?"

He suddenly got wide eyed and says "you guys are even cooler than I thought you were"!

My kids had a very backwards view of sexuality when I got divorced. They knew little about sex and didn't recall and sex or love between their father and I. My goal was to open their minds so that they were not so sheltered as I grew up. Little by little, we've done that by having open conversations, being non-judgemental, allowing them to talk and be free in front of us. They know we go to Hedonism and strip clubs regularly as well.

SO...they don't "Know" we are swingers, but I'm sure they would not be surprised. They just don't want to admit it any more than ANY kid wants to ADMIT their parents have sex.

As I said in another thread...my sister and her kids all know now thanks to OPrah and they haven't said anything to us directly but after the intial shock, they seem to have gotten over it and still socialize with us.

So far as I know, no other relatives know about us or will admit if they do. Only a few friends know and they may think we're "wild" or "Crazy" but they seem ok with it. Most of our friends are more amazed at how in love we are and as one put it, how we "Sparkle" when we are together!

I think I read somewhere that you only soft swing, is that correct, and if so why do you prefer that over full swap?

Jim claims that I shouldnt' say we soft swing because we have intercourse with women when we have threesomes. We really just don't swap with couples or play with single men.

We've decided to "start over" in the lifestyle because we're a new couple and want to explore it together. So for now, we BOTH enjoy women, so we decided to expand to include women first as it's exciting for both of us.

We live by the rule "never say never" so while we have no current plans to move beyond that, we realize anything may happen as time goes on. I'm not really ready to full swap either...I just can't picture myself with someone else and Jim not fully involved like when we are both with a woman, we are BOTH doing this at the same time. It's something we're doing together. Though I'm curious about it, I'm not really ready to be with another man, yet.

Though I have no problems with oral sex and on a rare occasion we've had oral with another couple.

I1. am a shopaholic...what's more, I'm a slutwear-aholic! I have so many things I have yet to even wear...and many items that I don't quite know when I'll get to but HAD to have cause it was so cute.

Honestly, Jim does a good majority of my shopping for sexy clothes - he has excellent taste and always knows what I will like, as well as can tell if it will look good, so I get lots of surprises in the mail!

3. Nope...don't shave anything. He keeps it "trim" around the privates and on occasion, will shave there, but mostly he takes care of that.

We go to Hedo at LEAST once a year...last year it was 3 times. We host a group for a travel agent - though we don't get paid for it or work FOR them. It's a lot of work, but we have a TON of fun.

We go to a large convention here in Chicago twice a year and we are going to a new one now down in Florida in May, but usually it's just once or twice a year. We go to a local club on average once a month for parties.

arent' they cool? I have them in red also and they came in black and silver as I recall. I got them from Fredericks a few years ago and I don't THINK they sell them any longer!
