Default Spotlight Interview #42 - Snozzberryblu

About the interviews

Swingers Board interviews are a way for us to get to know each other better. It is a way to acknowledge just how wonderfully varied a community we are.
Every Thursday, a new interview will start and the old interview will be locked.

Every SwingersBoard member is allowed to ask the amount of questions specified by the interviewee in the answers to the default questions. If they discover that they chose too high or low a limit, they may change their choice.

Try to keep this thread about the person being interviewed. If you want to comment about things you discover you have in common or just elaborate on a response, pm them and make a new friend or start a new thread about it. This is intended to be a friendly thread, so please don’t ask anything in a purposeful attempt to get a heated debate. Of course, nobody is required to answer a question that they do not want to.

The current person being interviewed will choose the next person. It is preferred that you pick someone that you do not know very well as the purpose of this thread is to get to know new people. If for some reason, the next interviewee has not been chosen in time for the new interview, I will pick the next person. If you would like to be added to my list of back-up interviewees, please pm me.

Also, please keep in mind that any answers you post are viewable to complete strangers. There is some risk in that. Again, all questions are optional.

The following are general questions asked at the start of each new interview.

Question limit (as the interviewee you may limit the questions on a per post or per user basis if you wish):
Gender (if not a couple):
If a couple, which one primarily posts:
Age(s):
Birthday(s):
Location:
Relationship status:

ARGH!!!! It ate my post.. ok here I go again:

Thanks Julie, we think this is going to be fun

No more than 50 please

Me, but hubby loves me to keep him up to date, and he chimes in on some of what I post.

Age(s):
38 and 39

Birthday(s):
December 5 for him, January 1 for me

Location:
Mississippi Gulf Coast

Relationship status:
Happily, totally, blissfully, passionatly in love.... oh yeah, married

Swinging for how long?:
Four months. Previous experiences with FMFs and a few months swinging in 93.

Prefer to swing with:

Intelligent, passionate people who consider sex not just fun, but an art form

Favorite food(s):
Seeeeaaaafooooodd!!! Next, authentic Korean and Japanese, and then a REAL good steak!

Bad manners... covers a huge list, so there is lots to gripe about lol.. basically, people with bad manners show lack of consideration for others. That is a big red flag to us.

Swinging Pet Peeve:
Bad manners too.. with the addition of two: That some assume just because you swing you're a free-for-all and the buffet is open. Second, the first chat that goes something like "Hey babe, I am so well hung.. are ya wet yet?" How bout a nice hi, how ya doin for starters????

Brief Intro:
Married 15 great years, two teenage boys, homeschool, too many pets, and about to do that scary thing -- buy our first small business. Yeikes!!!!

We live on the Coast, by no means a rural area. We have casinos, night clubs, great restaurants, lots of culture and festivals (Mardi Gras going on now, our favorite!). We work part time in the entertainment industry and have been able to see many concerts as a part of the job... if we're lucky, we get to meet some of the entertainers. Music is very important to us, so this isn't really a job for us!

We began swinging because of my bisexuality. I have been bi I think since I was about nine. Swinging has so far been a very good experience for us. We love the lifestyle, the philosophy, and the friendships. And, it has made us as a couple so much happier and brought us even closer than we thought two people could get. YEOWZA!

Business ownership is actually better and worse than anyone can imagine. We have been self-employed for about 10 years. I can't imagine working for anyone else!

Will your business focus on entertainment or do you have something else planned?

I have always wanted to visit your coast... what are your favorite things about your city?

Default Re: Spotlight Interview #42 - Snozzberryblu

Hey northindy

Our business is a bakery, which includes catering. So, not necessarily entertainment but there could be some crossover on a small scale. We are excited, really.. and for the first time feel like we are really going to be in control of our future.. well as best as anyone can at least

Favorite things are the culture... it has a mixture of French, Scandinavian, African-American, and well southern culture. I love that our area is so progressive, yet a short drive out can get you a home in what feels like the country. We have three military bases which also bring in a lot of different ideas and philosophies. I often wish the Coast could suceed from the state and become its own state... we are so very different in many ways than the rest of the state. We also have all those festivals, plus numerous parades/parties spanning six weeks for Mardi Gras, and several venues for all kinds of entertainers. We are about to get the Hard Rock Casino in here.. wow! Lastly, our food.. nothin like a pressed poboy YUM!

Screen name... A snozzberry is a mythical fruit on the wallpaper outside Willy Wonka's office. Blu is just one of my eight favorite colors. The fruit may be mythical, but it tastes just as advertised.. "and the snozzberries taste like snozzberries!" which is what we strive to do in our personal/swinging life. (I think Veruca Salk said that in the film).

Thanks for asking! PS.. Hubby is from NE Indiana

That is a great business... especially in the south! Good luck to you! And you are right, being in control of your future is very liberating.

What made you husband decide to leave Indiana?

It's great to see you in the spotlight this week- we've been hoping to hear more from and about you two! We enjoy the insight your posts show. Okay, now on to some questions, lol-- How did the two of you meet? What are some of your hobbies or how do you like to spend any free time you have together? Who are some of the entertainers you have met? Well, that's all we'll bug you with for now. Looking forward to hearing more from you!

Hey Snozzberry Blu,

Sounds like you two are a very busy couple with all that business and home schooling...my hats off to you both.

Which of you is the baker and who brought up the idea of opening up your own business.

Having two teenagers must make swinging activities very difficult..have you had any thoughts as to what you would tell them if they ever had any questions...or would you prefer to keep them totally in the dark (I don't mean that in a bad way BTW.. more like, protect them).

Thanks!!

At a military function.... I thought he looked really weird too! (he was trying a new hair style and had a pencil thin mustache)... one week later he nixed both and I jumped him!

Hobbies are... well anything creative. He loves wood working, home projects, cooking... if we had the funds he would long ago have had a wood shop to work in. For me, I don't stick to one thing (I am ADD lol seriously!). For christmas I made him a choker out by weaving hair from when I chopped off about two feet in October. This week I am designing a tattoo for him. I love photography. I collect things

Entertainers... we recently met Russell Hitchcock of Air Supply, Dana Carvey, Loretta Lynn's daughters (can't remember their names).. we are still new in this hobby, but the friends that got us into it have over the past years met numerous bands, singers, and comedians. Kansas is next week, and I am SOOO crossing my fingers on that!

Not too busy yet. When we take over the bakery, though, I am afraid we may lose ourselves! And thanks for the hat.. but really, far few people give themselves enough credit to do some of this. Not always easy, mind you, but not impossible either

We both are.... and my aunt.. she wants to sell it and retire.

Well it can... but we have friends who we go to see, instead of entertaining here. If they ever asked, we would try to evade unless we were really busted. If busted, tell the truth, but minimize the .. uh.. scale lol.. when they're adults, anything goes because we have great communication already. This is really the only thing about us they are out of the loop on.

Thanks for all the interesting questions

Some may think that is an odd thing to do... But I have been intrigued for years on this. And it is an incredibly southern thing to do. I have heard it called Mourning jewelry; produced for the soldiers before leaving the south to fight in the war. At different antique shows we have been to, designs fetch a pretty penny!

Is it something that you have an interest in or just decided to do? It sounds like you are creative indeed. How does your creativity flow through to cakes? Anything interesting that you have designed?

I think hairwork became popular in the 1700's.. but goes back centuries. It grew in popularity before photography was invented, and then continued until photos were so commonplace that anyone could afford to have a picture done. It was a way to leave something behind, since hair decomposes soooo very slowly. I am interested in doing more, just no time to do it I would love to collect some pieces tho -- between the artwork, and the history with each piece, the whole thing intrigues me.

With cakes, hmmmm... well we are in training right now, so for the most part we are learning how to do what she does so we can do that well and customers hopefully won't notice the change of guards. Plus, most cakes are pretty standard. However, I will be learning the air brush soon and that should open up a whole lot to me. I have always been interested in that, just never imagined I would do it with food coloring! Hubby wants to expand the business to include chocolates, so he is studying/experimenting with that aspect. We hope it's going to be a lot of fun, despite the work
