About the interviews

Swingers Board interviews are a way for us to get to know each other better. It is a way to acknowledge just how wonderfully varied a community we are.
Every Thursday, a new interview will start and the old interview will be locked.

Every SwingersBoard member is allowed to ask the amount of questions specified by the interviewee in the answers to the default questions. If they discover that they chose too high or low a limit, they may change their choice.

Try to keep this thread about the person being interviewed. If you want to comment about things you discover you have in common or just elaborate on a response, pm them and make a new friend or start a new thread about it. This is intended to be a friendly thread, so please don’t ask anything in a purposeful attempt to get a heated debate. Of course, nobody is required to answer a question that they do not want to.

Hi Brad & Janet!

Who first introduced the idea of swinging into your marriage?

Brad, I've read that you're bisexual and I'm impressed that you're able to share this side of your sexuality with Janet. My question to you is, did you always share this side of you with Janet, or is this something that you discovered since you've been swinging? What was her initial reaction?

1. How did y'all meet? Where?
We met at our 5-year high-school reunion. There were over 600 of us in that class, so you never got to know everyone. I found myself temporarily alone, so I sat down at a table next to a girl I knew. I didn't really want to talk to her, so I struck up a conversation with Janet instead.

2. How long afterward did y'all define your relationship?
Well, I was the first one to define it that way and I had to track her down in San Diego - where she was entertaining sailors - and beg her to come back. That was about 3-4 months into it.

3. Where were y'all married? City? Church? High Priestess?
We were married in the Tropical Room of the old Franklin Park Conservatory by a minister (grandma's insistence.) It was very hot, as they had to turn off the ventilation fans so people could hear the ceremony.

4. Where did y'all each grow up? Under what circumstances?
We both grew up on the east side of Columbus. I wouldn't say we were poor, but our fathers both worked in the public sector, and you know how well that pays. We were comfortable enough.

5. Y'all've remarked from time to time that y'all plan to move to Seattle. Will y'all live in the city or out in the country? Why?
We plan to live in the country, so Janet can have horses. I'm tired of the closeness of the suburbs and want to get somewhere I can't see, smell or hear my neighbors. I want to see the stars at night.

6. Where did y'all matriculate? Why? When? Majors?
I have a BS in Computer Science from The Ohio State University (1983). It was just something in which I was interested.

Janet has an Associates Degree in Nursing from Columbus State. She's wanted to be a nurse since she was seven. She just likes helping people.

Who first introduced the idea of swinging into your marriage?
It was a combination of both of us. She'd always teased and flirted with a rather good-looking friend of mine. She knew I ddn't care about it, and one day I probably made it clear that I didn't mind how far it went. I really don't remember, as there wasn't one revolutionary thing that happened, we just sort of evolved into it. I'm the one, though, that found the board, which led to us making the fantasy real.

Brad, I've read that you're bisexual and I'm impressed that you're able to share this side of your sexuality with Janet. My question to you is, did you always share this side of you with Janet, or is this something that you discovered since you've been swinging? What was her initial reaction?
It's something I discovered since I've been swinging. I suppose it's always been there, but maybe swinging gave me 'ideas', you know? Bisexuality never really occurred to me before, but I decided there are some things I'd like to try (and some I have. )

Janet was non-plussed. She sort of shrugged her shoulders. It doesn't really turn her on, but it doesn't bother her either.

Just wondered Brad, what things does Janet like to do that you might be non-plussed about and shrug your shoulders about? It seems like Bisexuality would be a bigger issue than that.

Brad, what was your first bisexual experience like and what's been the best bisexual experience for you so far?

What has been your favorite swinging experience?
Our most favorite was last summer with another couple. All four of us just 'clicked' that night and we all had a very good time. I don't know if it was the location, the timing, the wine or what, but magic happened, which we have been so far unable to create again. However, that doesn't stop us from trying!

What was your worst?
That's easy...the first one. We picked a single guy from one of the ad sites, but he turned out to be not what we thought. Those interested can read about it here. We learned a lot from that one.

That's kind of hard to answer, as I'm pretty non-plussed about most things sexual. I'm way kinkier than she is and she's never shocked me. And, really, the bisexual thing was no big deal to her.

What hobbies do you enjoy?
Photography, watching football and NASCAR on TV, computer gaming...and of course...crusing the internet for the odd and bizarre.

Brad, what was your first bisexual experience like and what's been the best bisexual experience for you so far?
Well, so far there's only been one....so I guess that would be the best!

It was fun. It was just some oral play, but I found out what fun sucking cocks can be (I'm sure some of you can relate! ) I'd sure like to do it again sometime and have both J and I go down on someone together. So far though, I haven't really tried that hard to find anyone. I figure that if it happens, it happens...

How many children do you have?
Two, a boy 12 and a girl 16. And, my inner child...

Have you always lived in Ohio Brad?
I was born in Pittsburgh, but we came here when I was 9 months old. Except for a year in San Diego when I was 7, I have lived here all my life. Janet was born and raised here herself.

Who's your favorite NASCAR driver?
Kasey Kahne. That Michael Waltrip cracks me up though. I like Jr. too, but not them Busch boys...

How many pairs of shoes does Janet own?
Janet: "Oh, 20-25, I don't have that many..." To me, this sounded funny.

What's the one place in the world that you would like to visit that neither of you have been to yet?
Baker, Florida, of course!

Well, OK, maybe Australia....or Hawaii...or Alaska.
