About the interviews

Swingers Board interviews are a way for us to get to know each other better. It is a way to acknowledge just how wonderfully varied a community we are.
Every Thursday, a new interview will start and the old interview will be locked.

Every SwingersBoard member is allowed to ask the amount of questions specified by the interviewee in the answers to the default questions. If they discover that they chose too high or low a limit, they may change their choice.

Try to keep this thread about the person being interviewed. If you want to comment about things you discover you have in common or just elaborate on a response, pm them and make a new friend or start a new thread about it. This is intended to be a friendly thread, so please don’t ask anything in a purposeful attempt to get a heated debate. Of course, nobody is required to answer a question that they do not want to.

The current person being interviewed will choose the next person. They need to first pm him or her and ask if he or she is interested, then pm me to let me know. It is preferred that you pick someone that you do not know very well as the purpose of this thread is to get to know new people. If for some reason, the next interviewee has not been chosen in time for the new interview, I will pick the next person. If you would like to be added to my list of back-up interviewees, please pm me.

Also, please keep in mind that any answers you post are viewable to complete strangers. There is some risk in that. Again, all questions are optional.

It's about time we got you into the spotlight! So how did the two of you get started in swinging? Which one of you brought it up?

How soon after the Swingers Board appeared did you join? (And when was this?)

Gender (if not a couple): Couple

If a couple, which one primarily posts: Mrs. O. Mr. O failed all three begining typist courses and his words are better left relayed through my fingertips, otherwise ya'll will fall asleep waiting on those two pointer fingers to hunt for the letters to type a sentence. I do however state when the opinion is only mine, or his, otherwise all postings under OhioCouple are a joint reflection of our opinions.

Age(s): Geesh!! It isn’t polite to ask a woman for her age! Of course I can tell his. He is 59 and we have a 15 yr age difference. (Do the math )

Birthday(s): He is a Taurus and I’m a Libra. Now that's a combo! We do balance each other very well, tho.

Location: Ohio

Relationship status: Married, for five...or is it six years? Physically together for over eleven years....or maybe twelve...

Swinging for how long?: Three years

Prefer to swing with: Folks we can be as comfortable with outside of the bedroom as well as in.

Favorite food(s): His: Italian Hers: Mexican

Biggest Pet Peeve: His: Being on ‘Exact” time. His favorite saying is “That shiny piece of metal on your arm is not an ornament!” (I hear that quite often, but have rarely ever been late for anything in my life.)

Hers: Not leaving things the way you found it. “If it opens, it closes.” Do it! “If it’s out, you replenish it.” Do it! Pretty doggone simple in my book.

Brief Intro: We are a mid-aged couple that are open enough to allow ourselves to experience what would be forbidden for most. Both of us have experienced failed marriages and I believe that due to that, we strive to keep communication open, nothing is off-limits to talk about, even things we strongly disagree on. We set scheduled times to vent those disagreements and when the time is up, we do not harbor resentment towards each other. For example, politics are one of the topics in which we strongly disagree on, but for one hour each each evening, we allow ourselves to banter.

Picture: We prefer not to post pictures, but will share them privately with those we know, upon request. We never share anything above about a PG-17.

This is actually a very good question. Mr. O hinted at the idea a few years into our relationship while we were watching porn. I basically slammed the door shut on the idea by saying that it would never be anything more than a fantasy (I probably didn't use those exact words, but he got the point and never brought it back up again.) A few years later after we had really grown into our relationship together, the possibility sounded exciting to me, yet so taboo at the same time. I had no clue that 'swinging' existed. I believed that any sex outside of your commited partner was infidelity at it's worst. At the time I was involved in some AOL chat rooms (which had nothing to do with sex) and noticed a few people that were saying to others to meet the in a certain chat room. Curiosity got the cat and I created a new screen name and headed to see what it was all about. I followed the chat in there (silently) for several months and soon discovered a little about swinging. Gained some courage and asked one of the regulars about it. Some more searching, eventually landed me here, where I found a wealth of information. I read every post on this board and decided that "Hey! These are folks like us!" I then re-introduced the idea to Mr. O and the rest as you say....is history.

I spent the first couple of months just reading and watching the quality of people who posted here before I joined. I had run across a few other chat areas re: swinging...and let's just say they were NOT very nice. I wasn't about to put myself out there to be slaughtered for asking a commonly asked question, which was the very thing these other boards seemed to thrive on. I don't recall when I actually commited to joining...I'm thinking late 2001?

How long have you been swinging?

We began about 3 years ago. Right about the time we joined here.

Do you find you now swing more or less than you did when you began swinging?

We are definitely swinging a lot less. The first year we did a lot of over-kill (strictly my opinion) meeting other people for lunch/dinner, drinks, etc., to determine compatibility after an exhchange or two in email. Most met dead ends, however we did meet a couple of folks that we did move forward with. Over time we revised the criteria of meeting others as mostly on my end, I needed to feel some sort of commonality besides the fact that we are all in this to explore new sexual avenues. If that bond is not formed early on, then we politely decline any further discussion about meeting. The last year has forced us to withdraw from almost anything 'swinger' oriented, including visiting this site. One of the things that is of highest priority to us, is that we not have to explain this to my children. Unfortunately, (well maybe not) my youngest found out about 'us' and this site, about a year and a half ago. And if she is reading now....well she knows better!! :rollseyes For the last year, my daughter-in-law has lived here M-F and both her and my son lived here from March-September, full time. Neither of which we had the desire nor any hope that they would ever understand if they were to find out what Mom and Mr. O might do, when they go away for a weekend to meet friends they have never heard us mention before. This is why I have been so absent on the board. Generally the earliest time I could log in was 10pm, or before 5am, just to be safe. We are now back to being child free and as soon as we catch our breaths, we plan to become more active.

Has your approach to swinging changed over the years?

I think I kind of answered that above, but if not, feel free to ask more.

Good golly, Molly!! You have my fingers typing-at-the-bit!! You forgot to remind me that this involved a whole lotta typing!

What are some of you and hubbies other favorite activities besides swinging?

We are both avid NASCAR fans (which BTW in both of our opinons has sunken to the level of WWF). I'm not sure how much longer either of us will be 'avid' fans. Mr. O enjoys all outdoor sports. Some actively, others for viewing only. Most of my hobbies include learning advanced technology (the hard way, I might add) and reading. I am an avid reader, although I have slacked off the last few years.

Do you have pets (besides each other)?

Ah, we are the proud parents of Miss Margaret. The absolute ruthless dictatoress (is that a word?) of this roost. A golden retriever who last weighed in at 99lbs (after a year of her green-bean diet).

Golden retriever=dopey, goofy, regimented, furry, shedding, drooling, lap-loving bag of fluff. I'll see if I can post her picture here. Margaret cares not where her picture appears, if it gets her some attention. She definitely is a breed to avoid should you see one coming in your path. They steal your hearts and take over your house. Literally.

What is your worst pet peeve?

I actually have many, but the one I posted above is just a squeage above the other 30 or so that I have which irritate the bejeebers out of me.

What types of books do you prefer to read?

I have many authors that I thoroughly enjoy, on various subjects for different reasons. I would have to say that the one author in which I am always sure to pick up the new book by, is Ann Rule.

As for my preferences, I enjoy anything but books which focus on 'romance' or are strictly history based. I'm sure I would have enjoyed historical based books except between 'Old Blue Hair" and "Mrs. D" they squashed my ever having an enjoyment of them, in the seventh grade. What a pity that I still can't get past that some 30 years later.

Unrelated question, have you ever went to any swingers clubs?

We have. We have gone to four swingers clubs and one house party, all within three hours drive for us. We have never traveled to one, outside of our immediate area. Two of the swingers clubs we have made repeat visits to.

Yes, I am 'considered' the guru. So sad, and soooo very true, as 99.99% of the time I am winging it or relying on the help I get from others, mostly from here. So to all of ya'll 'real' guru's that can understand my simplicity...I send ya the biggest of and present you with the honored for pulling me out of the trenches.

Now that the kids are back out of the house again, can we expect to see more of you around here?

I'm most definitely around more often now, but not to the extent that I was when we first joined here. I have become gainfully employed again after several years of being a stay-at-home wife and those that sign my paycheck expect my full attention from 8-5pm during the week. As a result, my participation on here will be limited to anywhere from 6pm-7am on the weekdays. I do try to 'hit the hay' by 10pm or so during the week days as 5am seems to to creep on me rather quickly and generally I am 'mentally' exhausted by the time I get home, as I'm still in the learning process of the new job. Once it becomes second hand to me...who knows, I might get by on six hours of rest.
