To the contrary, it's quite acceptable to be judgemental on this board. But you MUST be politically correct in your judgementalism and your choice of topics.

Instead of rolling your eyes and saying "Oh, BLOW ME," tell him how touched you are by his concern over his wife's safety and comfort, and that you appreciate his sensitivity in dealing with the issue. A little diplomacy will go far.

There are a few other things I could warn you about, but what the hell...I think I'll let you find out what they are for yourself. The lions have to eat too, you know.
