How to be more assertive at club or in the bedroom?

Recommended Posts

We have been involved in the "club scene" for several months and have learned that it is the female of the couple that "closes the deal". We both find it very easy to introduce ourselves and chat with other couples but the only time we have actually played is when they ask us.

I am not accustomed to to being the aggressor and asking someones else for sex. I am used to being persued and luckily we have met others that are better at this than we are so we have had encounters.

However recently we have had the following happen:

We are chatting with a nice couple for an hour or more and another couple will join in on the conversation. Suddenly we realize they are hooking up and we are left standing by ourselves. It finally dawned on me that it was because the other two ladies would go to the bar for a drink or off to the ladies room and cut a deal.

Women have walked up to Mr. and said things like "you are not playing with me enough" or straight out grab his dick. I am not comfortable doing this.

How do I learn this art of being the aggressor?

I am not sure if it can be learned.

I have never been an agressor. Ever.

But I have started to since swinging.

Meeting people in a "vanilla" enviroment I would NEVER bring up sex.

But when we meet people we have met thru the lifestyle and I think all is going good, I will ask Mrs naughty if she is game when we get a minute alone.

If she is I will bring up sex after a little internal pep talk (which I have talked about in another thread).

I tell myself: "Self, these people are here for the same reason you are, SEX, if they weren't interested then they wouldnt still be talkng with us.

Then out it comes, sex talk.

There isnt a canned line I use since evey situation is different. I tailor the talk for the situation at hand and see where it goes......

Practice with your husband. Pretend he was a stranger and be real aggressive with him it may help you loosen up when you are around strangers.

It's just a learning curve that may take a little time to get use to. C is the same way. It takes her a little while to get comfortable. Matter of fact she did something this weekend that is totally uncharactoristic of her...she was the first one naked which pretty much told everyone what was about to take place. That doesn't mean she'll do the same the next time but it's nice to see that side of her starting to surface.

Sure you may loose out on some playtime but it's not something that you can force. It just takes a little time for you to get comfortable being in that role. You can however start with someone that you've played with before and are already comfortable with. Next time ya'll are together try being the first one to break the ice and see how that goes.

I think I could really warm up to this idea. ::P:

As your chatting with this couple, start becoming more and more touchy-feely, touching the other guys leg, getting closer and so on. You should get the vibes from the other couple if they like it. Then, simply suggest you all go somewhere to "party"

Please keep in mind that having a woman come forward for what she wants is a tremendously exciting experience. For some really dumb reason, our society has taught us that it is the man who opens the doors, holds the chairs, and asks for the dance. As such, men have gotten used to the idea that there is a chance for rejection. Women are not used to the possibility of rejection and that is the main reason why you are uncomfortable in trying.:nono:

But in this instance your chances of rejection are relatively slim. So my suggestion is that when you see something you want, go for it. You will be pleasantly surprised at how easy it is and how good the results can be. :fun:

Well, the female of the species is more deadly than the male . . .

I think it has less to do with rejection than with aggression. Taking on the aggressive role is difficult for women because they haven't been taught how to balance aggression and tenacity with fairness and teamwork the same way or for as long as boys have. Girls aren't taught that lesson until they are in their teens. Boys are taught that lesson from the time they first start interacting with other children. Try playing team sports with groups of men (no, gangbangs don't count) like flag football or softball and you'll get more comfortable talking to men on our level. After that, asking for sex will be easier. Don't know why, but all the women I know who do this easily are tomboys.

It's just a matter of making the request fit the circumstance or the other couple. With a more conservative couple either Mrs Fun or I will say something like "Would you like to move to a more private setting?" Or if they are a bit more outrageous like we are (hopefully they are) "So do ya figure it's time to drop the drawers or what?"

mmm....I'll never forget the time....

The summer after I graduated high school was a particularly fun one for me. I met my husband that summer....

Anyways...one of my conquests this summer was this particularly hot guy--older than me (by a few years). I always kept my cool, didn't make myself seem too eager to fuck this guys brains out. I tried to be a lot of fun to be around. We'd hang out a lot...and I would flirt with him--with my eyes, my lips -not necessarily saying anything to him. He would always touch me...but not sexually....rubbing my shoulders..."goosing" my waist. Well one evening we went swimming--skinnydipping--with a group of mutual friends. He was there~~I was there just kinda minding my own business. He disappears and the next thing I know he's treading water right behind me....slips his arms around my waist and pulls me close to him~~whispers in my ear "I really want to fuck your brains out--why don't we make ourselves scarce?" He then proceeded to truly show me what he had to offer. We quickly made our excuses--That was my first highly erotic experience.

The next came when I met my hubby...

Soooo....I really love it when someone whispers in my ear--exactly what they want to do to me....

Thanks for the responses everyone. Fun pair, I like the way you think. Eternally Single, I do interact with men in a sports related area frequently but I feel out of my eliment when it comes to this issue. I see what others do but I cannot seem to figure out when or if the time is right. By the time I analyze the shit out of it it's too late.

Interesting topic and great suggestions.

Fun_pair - you are so crazy... I can just imagine that happening!

My hubby is the shy one in the family so I am normally the person who does the 'aggressing' including chasing after him long enough to make him mine!

We should start a post with our best one liners hehe

I understand completely. I was 20 before I stopped trying to analyze what I thought were sexual signals from women and started swallowing my pride, locking my ego in the closet, and taking a chance and acting on them.

I was also 20 when I met the woman who introduced me to swinging. I wonder if the two have anything in common?

I mentioned the team sports thing because, when playing sports everyone benefits when one person takes that chance and does something risky. Of course, everyone could lose too, but you never make the team or the winning goal/basket/hit/pitch/catch/whatever if you don't take the chance at failing.

I can empathize mrs good times. I once attended a dinner party with swingers where things COULD have happened...but didn't. Afterward, the host and I were talking it over and it hit him like a bolt of lightening...everyone there was a non-instigator! No one wanted to be the first.

I can recall one evening when we were invited back to a hotel room with a few other couples, and one guy and I had been messing around pretty hot and heavy just beforehand. When we got to the room, everyone took a seat and we all had another drink. Now, I know that had I gone over to this guy and continued on, that would have got the ball rolling, so to speak. I also didn't want to be the centre of attention for any amount of time, and I suspected that at least one other couple were going to watch only. I didn't want to be the floor show if even for a few minutes.

In hindsight, perhaps the expectation was that this guy and I WOULD be the floor show, or the instigators, and maybe I let everyone down by not being more aggressive. I can only be who I am, though, and I'm much more comfortable joining in after someone else sets the pace :)

Now, if this guy had come over to me and kissed me or unbuttoned my shirt or something, I would have jumped right in :bj:

Eternally Single,

I thought some more about your post last night and I came to some interesting conclusion.

I spend alot of time with men. Although the time is not in play. The sport I compete in I am a direct competitor to the men not in a team situation. In fact I am generally the only women competing. My job is also a consideration as I am one of only 7 females in a company of 62 employees and I am the only female manager.

I am used to telling men what to do or directly competing with them not asking them to please me or enjoying their company in a team situation. In both situations I have to play down my sexuality in order to be taken seriously.

Perhaps a little to psyco analytical again.

I love seeing posts like this. Not because I have anything useful to add. But because I am so not like my real self when it comes to pursuing sex with others. I am normally a quite agressive person socially and sexually with hubby. Nut put extra people in the mix and I don't know what to do with myself. I'm trying to get better, but I know that if I was in a room and someone announced "let the fucking commence", that once I recovered from my hysterical laughter, I would be completely relaxed. :D

No, thats not exactly what she does, but it sounds like it might be fun to watch.

The sport she is referring to is much less physically demanding than a sport like dwarf tossing, and not as fast paced as something like lawn mower racing, but we are both very good at it.

Now, if I could just talk her into trying out for nude jellow wrestling.

      First I feel poll crazy!!!!

Was reading another thread kind of about when people party (fuck). How long do you have to know them? Minutes? Hours? Days? Weeks?

Hopefully this will be another good poll.

Also I believe you can vote without having to leave a comment.

For all my hesitation and stress over mailing and meeting, I happened on a couple when checking out a club attendance list. I find them very interesting and would love to meet them.

I get anxiety over the idea of meeting with a couple that I don't really know anything about and don't know of any common ground. I just don't know what to say there. I am too far out of my element there. I don't like being out of my element.

So this couple is physically similar to us and has choices and interests that we share. I am actually interested in getting together with them just to talk about those things if nothing else.

Any tips on formulating an e-mail to initiate possible interest? I have sent a few of these things with nothing really coming of it, partially on our part in some cases. I'd really like this one to be different.

We've been to several swinger clubs and my wife and I usually engage each other. What is your go to move if you want to play with others?

We have been newcomers at the clubs we've been to so it's not like we have friends there--makes it tougher. We are also in our mid 50s and seem older than average.

Hi all. This is my first post. My husband and I are new to swinging. With his job we are unable to really pursue swinging locally so our options are kind of limited. We do have a second home in another state so we typically try to look there or wait for our trips to Desire. With this, our playing doesn't get to happen like we would like. We have some friends who asked us about Desire and we took them there. Since they are friends we haven't really approached them about the possibility of playing. They have never played with anyone but I do know they are looking to spice up their marriage. They are close friends, but becoming closer.

      Anyone ever approached this? TIA

Ok, you veterans are going to get a kick out of this. Been to about 6 socials. Been the hit of the party, pics on the website. Danced a lot at the social and later "upstairs" . We are an attractive couple and people seem to like us a lot. I tend to flirt more with the ladies because I'm bi and enjoying sex with another woman is #1 with me. Guys are great but not what we are seeking although we have enjoyed couple/couple soft swap before and they are never excluded.

      Now for the question...

We are missing a very important step and I don't know how to insert it. Everyone just takes it for granted that we have all this experience because we are comfortable in the atmosphere, which we are. I believe they are waiting for us to make the request "do you want to play?" or perhaps they are asking us and we just don't realize it.

When do you ask another couple about playing? What would be some of the phrases we should listen for? Maybe we are missing something.
I don't know what we are doing wrong unless it's just not acting fast enough, do the couples plan downstairs for what happens upstairs? It just happens over and over that we have people all around us, all having a great time, all dancing and then the evening is over and we are heading back to our room alone.

My sweet husband has told me I can be intimidating because I do have a good body and am on the pretty side. I like to dress in lingerie and love having a place to wear all the great outfits that are frowned on in regular clubs, but they are always tasteful with a bit of slutty mixed in. Seems I've been lucky and have turned somewhat swanlike after years of being a plain old duckling. So here we are friendly, dancing, enjoying, laughing and yet always ending up alone. More and more of the regulars seem to be accepting us into the clicks. We get all hugs and kisses on the way in and out. Even the pretty people have welcomed us, you regular swingers know exactly what I mean by that.

Any good insight out there? Any helpful hints ?
