I guess I'm in the same boat as others here. I can have an orgasm from oral sex alone, though it usually takes some time. There are probably ways to cut down the time though. I can with Mrs. Spoo. It isn't easy, but I can. In a play situation, though, I tend to think of things as being fairly linear. Because of condoms, I tend to go from step to step to step - with the last step being intercourse, which is where I typically finish.
