I'm the same way. When my Aunt Bitch, er Flo is visiting I do tend to get horny. Now, I will masturbate with a towel of course underneath. I agree, a woman definately is not "dirty" during her period. With me I just don't feel good during AF time...I'm cramping and whiney and bloated lol. We didn't answer the pole because they didn't apply ... when I was raggin' (I LOVE my IUD!! No more periods!!), we'd play as usual except no oral for me (frankly, it would gross me out if some guy wanted to go down on me then). Sex didn't bother us (but was more messy), and I'm happy to perform oral as much as he'd like it --

Not hard to place, as it pretty much goes straight in and back (if you're sitting, which I recommend)

I've noticed that I need to give it a few minutes to "warm up" and create a seal around my cervix before any vigorous activity commences. Long foreplay is also recommended. That said, everyone is built differently "in there", so it may not fit, but I think it's worth trying.

Yes, it can be in place at any time during your cycle (tho some women don't want to have sex during their heavier flow days)

My hubby can detect it, and usually wears a condom to cut down on the friction. That's fine w/me, since it eliminates some of the mess for removal.

I don't feel any discomfort that I wouldn't feel anyway (hence not wanting to do anything the first couple of days).

rotflmao...although, if you told the story...they might just think you are making it up. I bruise easily (my ex used to joke that if a fly landed on me, I would have 6 little bruises from it...silly man)..and have had occasional visible marks (like 'fingerprint' sized marks)...and have made a flip comment like, 'yeah one of my booty calls got a little too rough' or something of the like and I just kind of get an 'uhh-huh' response.
