I'm not sure that I would like to try a double vaginal either. Rather a double vaginal/anal if all involved are totally willing to go for it.

I am quite sure that not even the Kinsey Institute has any reliable statistics concerning how common DPs are in MFMs. My advice: go out and create the MFM experience you want.

I honestly think it depends on the heights and builds of the folks involved. Seems to me the easiest way would be for the the backdoor dude to lie on his back and the lady rides him in the reverse cowgirl position. Then the pussy man can enter facing her . . .

Actually, your way works very well for DVP. We have done it a couple of times with my best friend. I was on my back and my wife was on top of me with my penis in her vagina.
