Big Nikki here. Sex bummer going on. An acquaintance of mine, someone I admired maybe influenced me in an odd kind of way, just got busted for running a website facilitating johns and hookers connecting. A university career down the tubes, shame and criminal defense for now, maybe jail time in the future. Such a bummer. If only this prudish country would legalize and regulate (for the safety of all) sex for sale. Sad, sad. -- Big Nikki |

Yes, as they have in certain counties in Nevada legalize and regulate. The man made bad decisions. Why the government keeps getting involved in our lives because people don't understand personal responsibility. To bad he is going to learn the hard way though. Should have thought it through better. |

There are a lot of 'crimes' out there with criminalized behavior based on morals. A hundred years ago, all of us probably would have been arrested in this country. In some countries, you can still be arrested for swinging. Humanity sucks sometimes. |

Very sad. And what a waste of law enforcement assets.

I believe we should legalize all "crimes without victims," tax them and use the proceeds to fund health care insurance. Prostitutes, who should pay income tax, should be controlled by the health care system and STDs tracked and treated. Drug addicts should be treated the same way. Alura |

| two wordsmiths | Big Nikki here. I'll plead guilty for feeling concern for a friend in trouble and sadness for the apparent tough enforcement of laws I find regrettable. His difficulties may well be self-inflicted, but that does not negate my sympathy. -- Big Nikki |

We feel with you, Big Nicki. This is a waste in so many aspects. Waste of this person's time and career, waste of our tax dollars, waste of the justice system's resources not going after real criminals. Alura is so right. Legalize, regulate, and tax all victimless "moral" crimes. In our neck of the woods we used to have old time "blue laws" that have been overturned. Time to overturn these remaining blue laws against drugs and prostitution, regulate them so as to decrease the health problems and increase the revenue from them as we have done with gambling and the lottery. |

| That is odd, have you logged in at different locations? I would certainly change your password NOW. If you log your PWs on your computer you might want to change that policy.

Big Nikki here. Quote:
I don't mind being called 'big pussy' if it's meant the right way. Truth is, small pussy (keep in mind my petite ancestry) but big pencil. Big pencil is good for a writer who swings. -- Big Nikki | |

I wouldn't deal drugs because I believe they should legalize pot.

this is not intended to start an argument, but it is intended to maturely discuss the subject of prostitution and the description of it being a victimless crime. In some cases it may be victimless, in other situations it may be entirely a crime in the truest sense of the word. While a woman sometimes chooses prostitution as a life choice, this is not true for all women, which begs the question regarding prostitution as a victimless crime. For a woman who chooses to become a prostitute, then maybe it is victimless. Did she choose this because she wanted to do this or was she pushed into it by uncaring parents, a hardcore boyfriend, or any number of gang or drug related exploiters. Human trafficking is part and parcel of the sex trade, always has been. Child prostitution is also another crime for which I would submit is not victimless. Maybe regulation and taxation is one way of combating these issues, but simply glossing over the issue by calling it victimless does not meet the reality test. Feel free to maturely reply, because it is an issue that has plagued mankind since our earliest days. Outlawing the practice has been one way of attempting to deal with victimization of women. Legalizing has been another way of trying to deal with it. Is there truly a best way to minimize the negative impact it has on the victims of abuse and forced sexual activity? maybe they have it somewhat right in amsterdam and parts of nevada, I don't have the answer to that, but reducing the number of unwilling victims is a worthy goal |
