Ha, it's only "effective" sometimes. Ask my former sister-in-law, who is 19 and pregnant! (She started using the "tummy method" 2 years ago.)

Crap you took my line. Yep parents. If this method is so effective we wouldnt have the modern miracle of virgin births. Yes its true we do still have them. Life is persistant that way. Give those sperm any chance or hope of getting up there and they will even if left on the outside of the vagina. And that doesnt even mention pre-cum. Yes it does contain sperm. i wonder if the study was done by the same teenagers who came up with the cola idea?

Well for the first couple of years my now wife and I while dating did the pulling out method. Nothing bad happended though and she was on top many times. It boils down to having a lot of self control and along with maybe some luck thrown in..

Wow, we are new to swinging and ask much more than we answer! But two Anatomy and Physiology courses, and one human sexuality course later and I can finally answer a question! YA me!

The pull-out method alone, overall, is 60% effective.

It increases in effectiveness if 1) the man is on top, 2) the man pulls out right b4 precum (precum has active sperm in it too) and then masterbates the last bit, instead of doing the frantic pull and pray, 3) the woman has a tilted uterus.

Abt the tilted uterus: generally when men pull-out a small amount of sperm containing cum does deposit on the edge or close to the edge of the vaginal opening. Sperm have a short life span and usually cannot make it to the egg in a tilted uterus from that distance b/c it is farther back than in a normal uterus. This also makes the pull-out method more effective immediately after the womans period that right before, no matter which way her uterus goes.

We never used anything but the pull-out method b/c I (the F) have severe negative physical reactions to all birth control but condoms (and gave up on those between the two of us after we got married). Have two kids, (the M is fixed now )both on purpose: but we had all three increases to the pull=out methods effectiveness on our side.

FYI: Boy sperm live longer, girl sperm are faster. Using the pull out method (at least if you do it fairly well but not well enough) usually results in baby boys! "Shoving it deep inside her" is more likely to get you a girl

Do we recommend it as your only form of birth control? Hell no! There are plenty of other options out there to try to see what works 4 u. Can it be an effective method though? Yes, but you have to know what you are doing.

FYI again: Tests being done on male birth control I think in Canada but am not positive abt the country (def. not the U.S. yet ). Regular shots of testosterone that decrease the males viable sperm production. So far results show it to be 98% effective (Female birth control is 99% effective), and the only significant side effect is the mans INCREASED sex drive (women have a plethera of side effects to choose from, heaven forbid we smoke). Tests still in the beginning stages but lets keep our fingures crossed!
