How common is anal sex in the Lifestyle.

I keep seeing threads about women enjoying anal and I have to wonder just how many women in the Lifestyle actually enjoy it. Or is this just another male fantasy?

We know some people that do it with play partners but I wouldn't say it is common. We would never do it if for no other reason than the increased risk of STD transmission is unacceptable to us.

I like anal, and liked it before the 'Style became a part of our life. I think it's a "ya do" or "ya don't" thing - and has little to do with whether you're in the Lifestyle or not.

One of our rules is that anal is something that stays out of "playtime" with others, even anal between us. Just a personal moment that I don't care to share with others...

I'm gonna put myself out on a limb with this one.

Before we started more actively in the lifestyle,anal was not givin much consideration.We'd try it now and then.Sometimes it would work,but mostly not.And I myself never even thought of being on the recieving end.

Now however,anal play it becoming more common.Not just for her,but both of us.Not that we'd let others in the back door .That's personal.

I'd have to blame this change on the Swingers Board.We discovered a mountain of new thoughts,theories and ideas from reading the posts that we never would have considered ourselves.Not that we're complaining.Far from it.Letting the Mrs.'have her way with me' revealed a side of her I had never seen before.And I LIKE IT .

To all the posters,Keep bringing on the new ideas.And don't be afraid to try something new now and then. It worked for us.

There has always been a trend to "new" and "different" things, simply from the openness of talking about them. I like anal, but could not do it with a casual play partner.

We enjoyed it before the lifestyle and in the lifestyle, we enjoy it from time to time. I have to be completely in the mood for it though. It's not one of those activities that we can plan because it's just something where if I'm feeling it and really want it, the request will slip out of my mouth and we'll take it from there.

We are not into it ourselves, for the same reasons you mention in another post, Mr. Tybee. I have run into two women in the lifestyle who really seem like that is their main thing. I don't think it is all that common outside of private bedrooms and porn.

Like most other women, I love anal sex, but have to be in the right mood for it. However, on that note, it's not something we share with play partners.

Since I have a fear of injury due to a overzealous play partner, it's kept just between Mr. LFM and myself.

Dog is afraid of hurting me. So for now I have not had anal and have no real desire to experience it. I know Dog wants to try but everytime we do, he can't bring himself to do it. Of all the women in the world he is afraid of hurting, and it is the one who can kill him 6 different ways with a popcycle stick. I don't hurt easily.
Anyway, I think that would be a private thing between Dog and I....if ever we get there that is. Too much chance for getting injured...my play partner that is, not me.

I agree with some of the others, it's a private thing...at least for now. It doesn't happen that often, so when it does I want it to be with my boyfriend. And there is also the increased risk of STDs - that's a big reason its just for the two of us.

I have no idea how common it is. I know I like it and once enjoyed it with a regular play partner. As others have said, it's not something you are always ready for or in the mood for.

Since a condom is always used, I would like to know more about why people say there is a greater risk for STD's during anal.

Good Times needs to come into this discussion; he is well read on the subject of STD transmission. I'd like to know his views.

I would think that intercourse without condoms would be more risky than anal with condoms. And even when using condoms in both cases, I would think the risk would be the same.

The reasoning behind the idea that it's easier to spread an STD with anal sex is that condoms are not designed for anal sex. This is why it's believed that the spread of AIDS is easier between homosexual men. The rectum is a tight place and condoms are not manufactured specifically for anal use and therefore, aren't as effective in preventing the spread of disease during anal sex. The idea behind this theory is that with the tightness comes the risk of breaking and/or slipping.

Also, the tissue is far more delicate and is more prone to tiny tears again facilitating the spread of disease. Just as no condom is 100% effective in preventing STD transmission for vaginal sex, it's the same for anal sex. Granted, your chances of passing/getting something from anal sex decreases with condom use, it still poses a risk.

For me personally, I take a risk by having sex with others, even when condoms are worn. The risk is already there. If anal is something I'm in the mood for and my partner is agreeable to it, it happens.

I think it's important to remember that condoms are not a guarantee that you won't end up with an STD.

While I have burned way to much free time reading studies that most would consider extremely boring, I would like to clarify that I am by no means an expert on this subject.

Actually DGrey covered it pretty well and I can only add a couple of thoughts.

As DGrey said the condom failure rate is much higher with anal than with vaginal sex. The condom being designed for use in the self lubricated environment of the vagina is not as reliable when used in the anus which requires artificial lubricants. Additionally, in regards to AIDS transmission it seems to be fairly well accepted that if one has open sores or cuts that the risk of transmission of AIDS is highly increased. Some experts would even argue that without open sores or cuts AIDS transmission is not even possible. The problem with anal sex is it almost always results in tearing or abrasion of the anus and often the penis. So if you should have a condom failure or slippage the chances of transmission are much higher than they would be if the same thing happened during vaginal intercourse.
