I watch porn somewhat regularly. Believe it or not, I use it in my exercise routine for reasons I won't go into here. Frankly, most of it bores me. But what I have noticed is that it seems people are really, really tired of good old penis in vagina style sex.

Everything is "anal this" and "anal that" and I am one of those odd guys who just isn't into anal sex.

If you believe in the theories behind most marketing, the proliferation of anal-centric porn means that most consumers of porn want that; that putting penis in anus on film = guaranteed to fly off the rental/sales shelf of the local video store.

And yet, in swinging only one guy has ever out and out asked Mrs Spoo for anal sex (she politely redirected him) and only two women have asked me for anal sex (I politely redirected them ).

Anal sex is cool, but I have to wonder why in the world it is everywhere. It is as if no one in the porn world has normal sex anymore, and I see a lot of great vaginas being wasted. It is kind of sad. I wonder if they realize how many men there are who go to bed every night without, and here they are just wasting it...

Am I alone in my head scratching or does this bother anyone else?

I think, and I'm not a guy but have been told this, the "anal craze" lol, is because of 2 things.

Shelly's theory of analtivity

1. Most men are bi-curious, just like women....but they cannot be open about it because society has such a stigma attached to it.

2. When women have babies especially, their vagina becomes looser, and does not have the tightness that it had when they were younger. The anus is a very tight muscle, and feels really good on the penis.

I must admit I like that one and maybe if we spread it around these silly videos that concentrate on anal sex will just disappear and we can get back to vaginal sex.

As for the anus staying tight...nope, anything moving in or out stretches the opening after a few minutes of anal sex it loosens up pretty good.

What gets me is the ease in which they make it look like. No prep work nothing just slip it on the ass without pain or discomfort and in any old weird position. Then pull it out and pop it in her mouth eeeeewwwww. That one also gets me cringing.

I also agree facials seem to be the other one.

I love anal sex, but it's because of the taboo of it... nothing to do with Shelly's theory of analivity. Although I like the term. It is just very very naughty and very very erotic. Lucky for me that Mrs. WS loves it.

As far as tightness? I still find my most intense orgasms are via vaginal. I think because the anus is tight going in but not tight after that. The vagina completely encompasses the penis equally from top to bottom. More sensation over a larger area.

I don't think there is a guy on this board who considers himself bi that will say they are into anal sex with another man. I have no idea if most men are bi curious or not, I just know this man isn't, but I can't see women getting it in the rear being a subsitute.

Overall I think much of it is just due to a lack of imagination in porn. There is only so much you can do, and now that anal isn't what the less attractive porn stars did to be different and is expected you see it. I think its unattractive myself.

What I really think is going on is that a lot of porn by the bigger companies like Vivid is trying to use a shotgun approach rather than specialize. They have been putting a foot fetish scene in almost all of their stuff lately and I don't think a foot fetish is a majority thing either.

So they have anal, and a foot fetish, and a girl girl, and a DP, and a 3some so everyones 'thing' is covered.

I'll add to this the 'anal is now expected' montra and walla we see anal in just about every porn.

I don't know about this one. I know there are many closet bicurious men, because I am contacted by them often. But "bicurious men" is not really something that is measurable in today's society so there's no way to tell that "most men are bicurious" is for real. I lean toward that they're not a majority, but hey ya never know.

I dunno. Some anal porn is fascinating when it's done right. The plain ol' plug-it-in-and-pump-away is kinda unrealistic, considering what I know of what porn actresses have to do to prepare themselves for the activity off-screen. I know I like it on occasion, both as either the giver or receiver, and there *is* prep work. To go straight out and start anal fucking is the road to getting your head knocked off by the recipient.

I have noticed the trend. Mainly among my guy friends. I have one friend that couldn't care less about whether a woman has a vagina or not...if she's got an asshole, he's good to go. Perhaps I should ask him why.

I don't get it either, in fact, most of our porn is old and when we rent it we usually rent stuff from the pre-anal days. Trouble is, prior to the anal porn days it was the chia pet between the legs days, and I can only take so much Hairy bush porn now days. When you’re watching the Anal Thrust Series Volume 17 you have to expect some anal activity.

Even though I enjoy anal activity with Mrs. Beaverz I’m not a big fan of watching it on porn. I also get bored with today’s porn in general and find many things as turn offs. For me it is spot-on, but in the manner of all porn. When my sex life is really active I watch little to no porn. When life gets in the way of living then my fantasy life takes over and I watch porn. Since we started swinging I've watched even less the before because now I see all those group sex scenes and think to myself "that is so not how it is."
