I've had my cervix manually dilated during a D&C and let me tell you...it's no picnic and far from pleasurable. I can't think of any doctor that would willingly dilate a cervix and stitch it open to keep it open. Nor is the cervix analogous to a sphincter muscle, it's a ring of involuntary muscle only opening upon hormonal signals from the woman's body.

DGrey is right. It is a sphincter of sorts, but it's entirely involuntary. A great deal of labour pain is actually the dilating of the cervix as it's forced open by the muscular contractions of the uterus. It hurts like a sonofabitch. I have to disagree with you here... it is because these guys DOESN'T KNOW women AT ALL!

The original post is BS, crap, it could say a guy saw his own cock head peeking trough the gal throat.

Besides being a ring that requires a LONG hormonal stimulation to dilate (and I even doubt this fits the "sphinchter muscle" definition), it have a mucus cap that keep isolated the uterus from the ouside world. Except for sperm that is able to go trough it due to a chemical proccess, nothing else would go in.

If it were so easy to go trough the cervix with a penis, that would render useless the intrauterine devices, abortion proccesses wouldn't be painfull nor psychically traumatic, and pregnant wome would have to spend most her pregnancy time upside down.

Besides, the cervix is tilted upwards (towards the belly, if the lady is laying facing up) and the vagina goes on a little more, i.e., it isn't "the vagina bottom". Just a finger inspection would be enough to realize when you push further than the cervix, it graciously slide upwards to let you reach the bottom.

In further research I also found the following. And this has to do with In Vitro and In Uterus fertilization.

Why is Sperm Washing Necessary?
Sperm must be washed in order to be used with IUI. Raw semen cannot be inserted directly into a woman’s uterus. This is because semen contains chemicals called prostaglandins. Prostaglandins cause muscular contractions and are responsible for cramps during menstruation and pregnancy.
